What do they define as "high resolution"?

That Prestigo - as bod says - no idea what resolution the screen is, what megapixel the cameras are, what the processor is.
I really hope OP doesn't buy some cheap rubbish, think it's not as good as his £600 iPhone, and conclude that Android devices aren't any good!
OP could get an iPad 1 (10 inch) for his budget, but I'm not sure what they're capable of running these days.

Have indeed bought a 'lemon' JJ, even though it got rave reviews on Amazon (627 of them too). Hugely not impressed with it, and have learnt the hard way cheap isnt always better. So, back to the drawing board, think im going to back up my Nexus 7 2012 onto my PC and try factory resetting it as its so so slow.

On a side note, I dont think I like the 10" tablets, bit too bulky so a lesson learnt there too

As you've got an iPhone 6 I cant understand why you'd want to spend so little on a tablet...

Company phone, and hugely impressed with it. On wifi indoors, its probably 3 or 4 times faster than my Nexus 7 when sat in the same room as the router, wanted a cheap(ish) 10" tablet to see if i could get to grips with it, unfortunately I'm not a big fan of them so far (size just as much as the poor performance of the cheapie I bought)

Resetting to Factory - if you're onto Lollipop (and I think a wee bit before), this is much easier.
Yes, everything gets wiped. Apps, pics, music, and the tablet acts like new again, with the setup screen.
You then log in, and it can redownload all the apps you had on the tablet previously.
And your contacts, calendar, email etc should be in the cloud (Google's cloud), and you should have Google Play Music setup, and the newer photos app, both of which should be set to store your pics and music in the cloud, which can then sync back down again when you set up.
Alternatively you plug it into a computer and copy that stuff onto it, and copy back over to your reset tablet.
As I said before, you may lose some settings, preferences, login info, high scores from SOME apps, but again many store this stuff in the cloud too.
AND, everything above applies if you buy a new tablet anyway.

Thanks Al, to be fair all thats on my tablet are a load of games I never play, 6 or 7 apps i do use (ebay, lloydsTSB, IGindex and Outlook) and a load of photos I've saved from online or screenshots I'd like to keep. No contacts or email accounts etc on there, so I'll try backing up to my PC, then a factory reset. I may well be back to ask how to load the best/fastest version of operating system once its reset (I'm useless with technology I'm afraid :o )

That is unusual as Amazon reviews are generally a good indicator .

i know, and the 600+ told me it must be goof value for money. but the screen/colours are a bit washed out, the sound is non existent (which i knew from the reviews anyway) to be fair most tablets had mixed reviews, even the more popular ones like Samsung etc which suprised me. Only one that led in the ratings was one of the ipads, i think 5 stars with 2k+ reviews... Are they really that much better??
