I am sure it was just bad wording.0

Possibly, but current accounts in credit make even bigger loss than those overdrawn.Thrugelmir wrote: »Current accounts are loss leaders subsidised by other services.
Don't forget that what you quoted was:HSBC - left due to poor customer service and debt paid off slowly
First Direct - HSBC in another name debt paid off
LTSB - left debt -slowly paid off still have one loan outstanding0 -
I received a letter today from Barclays today which states the following
"We regret to inform you, that following a review of your account(s) with us and after careful consideration, we are unable to continue to act as your bankers.
Therefore your account(s) with us will be closed on 01 April 2015."
So now I am running out of banks -
HSBC - left due to poor customer service and debt paid off slowly
First Direct - HSBC in another name debt paid off
LTSB - left debt -slowly paid off still have one loan outstanding
NatWest - Obtained £1k out of them for poor customer service, left as no improvement. Credit Card debt being paid off slowly.
Halifax - refused bank account prior to opening Barclays.
I don't really have the time to find new account, especially if its going to be NO. Any suggestions of a decent bank, with high standards of customer service? All I need is a debt card, I do not need an overdraft, credit card, loans ect.
You are asking for a high standard of customer service, surely then the bank's deserve a higher standard of running an account than what you have recently provided them with?
just reading your original post you have jumped from 1 bank to another leaving a trail of debt in your wake at each of them, and to top it off you seem quite proud to announce you got 1k from nat west for poor customer service, and you left them with " credit card debt been paid off slowly" am guessing you did not use the 1k to pay anything back off your debt. You remind of a big summer blue bottle jumping from 1 cow pat to another, I also hope you fail to get another bank account for your own sake as i expect you will drop them in it too.
Is any of the above politically correct? i don't know but i believe in saying what i think !!!!0 -

Agree with this, you sound like a customer very few businesses would want!!0 -
As many have already noted, there are clearly wider issues here. For a bank to close your account like this is unusual and there must be a reason for it - where the bank does not have to tell you what it is, surely you must have some idea?
I think you need to check your credit file for any CIFAS (fraud) and debt markers before going any further especially given your comments above about other people's details.0 -
The OP hasn't stated whether his Barclays account(s) are in good standing. From his history it would appear this has not always been the case elsewhere.0

Does Pound Land run a retail banking operation ?
Or does it simply stick to what it knows best.0 -
