Thank you Hypno, yep its certainly one of those things that divides opinion ... I dont even know what my own opinion on it is  It is something I've thought about for ages, in fact ever since my ex left us
I was nearly 32 then and I remember thinking I would think about it and seriously review things when I was 35 if it didnt look like Mr Right was on his way
... well, I'm 35 in a couple of months and its something i'm finding myself thinking about more and more
I would obviously need to look into it all in much more detail but at the moment I'm just trying to think about the implications for everyone involvedMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

In the meantime, keep googling sperm banks!! Mr Right, could well be out there in a petri dish........:D

Ideally I wish I could have had the "normal" family set-up, but my ex shattered that dream well and truly for me
I've never been the sort of person to want a huge career and as you all have seen on here, I'm not particularly materialistic, the one thing I want / have always wanted is a family, dont get me wrong, I do know how lucky I am to have ds and its that that makes me want more kids if that makes sense? I am fairly sure financially I would be fine, I would need to move house at some point, but if I keep overpaying my mortgage that shouldn't be a problem either ...

You WOULD be fine financially - I have no doubt about that, and you would be GREAT as a mum of 2.......or 3!!
But as for "normal"........nope, that is a word that I do not understand......never been faced with that one!! *hypno goes off to find dictionary* :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It doesn't have to be that way, BB...:grouphug: ( sorry, this site hasn't got any other huggy smiley's ).
It's evident from some of your posts that he has knocked your self-esteem for six but it doesn't mean you'll always feel like this. I'm probably stepping over some invisible line here but I have absolutely no doubt that you'll meet someone soon. Anyone reading this can tell you're a blooming great mum who puts DS's interests first; dead skilled at multi-tasking; a financial whizz to boot and someone who seems to think about life and what they want rather than just stumbling through from crisis to crisis. Having met you too, I can add attractive and friendly to that list as well....:o .
Really sorry if that embarrasses you or makes you feel uncomfortable, it wasn't meant to. Thirty-five is still young and women have babies later and later nowadays. Ultimately though, it's one persons decision and that's yours. Good luck with it.....:D0 -
Aw thank you Chip, but all I can hear is that old tick-tock in my head
and 35 feels like time is starting to run out
I'd rather not rush into anything with someone purely because I want a child, I know its not conventional but it seems to make a bit more sense in a way to have a child without the father then I've got the rest of my life to find Mr Right without hurrying it  and if he doesnt come along then thats fine too as I'll have my family
But yeah, you're right, he messed me up good and proper
He was the love of my life and he almost utterly destroyed me
