Aw, big hugs, melly. for some reason oxygen is one of the treatments for my cluster headaches, too. I must ask why next time I see my neurologist. I do hope you manage to get some help with it today.

Big hugs to Calley and Pyxis, too you both did so well today! Want to do my housework by any chance? We have to leave the flat in a spotless state in case someone needs to come in for another inspection while we are away, we haven't even started. This isn't helped by opposing sleep patterns, I seem to be getting at 4am and going to bed at 6pm, WaSp is going to bed at 5am and getting up at midday because he needs to be up late to help his friend in America fix his computer! By the time he wakes up I'm too tired and comfortable to move!

You have my sympathy, tea. I think my uterus is conspiring with yours and nothing has even happened yet!

We only have 28 posts to go on this thread until we reach 5000, JM so how about I start one on Tuesday?(or would anyone else like to start it?). Does anyone have any name suggestions on the theme of the current title so we can find it easily?

Perfect, Pyxis! I agree with you that the title should be as near as possible to what we have had because we have a lot of lurkers and we don't want them to be unable to find us if they haven't checked the forum for a while. I, (or someone else) can make a new thread on Tuesday then and we can get this one locked. That's three threads in a year, amazing!

Just thought, haven't heard from Lostinrates for a while. Hope she's ok.

And Seven-day-weekend, too, although she may be in the middle of the house move? If so, hope it's going ok 7DW!

And Haybel....hope Little One and Max are ok!

And anyone else who hasn't posted for a while! Hope you're all ok. :A

I am here, thanks for thinking of me. I have been reading the thread.

Yes, still renovating the bungalow. Having to strip wallpaper off room by room so that the plasterer can do his stuff! We do one room, he plasters it, we are one room ahead of him all the time :)

The plumber is coming back today. The washing machine point cannot be used as we intended, as the 'drain' we intended to use for the water discharge turns out to be only a soakaway, so he is having to take up our (newly installed) floor to reroute the plumbing along under the floor to take the water to the other side of the bungalow and into a drain there. Luckily the floor is wooden and can be unscrewed.

Good news though - the kitchen diner is finished (other than said plumbing which will be completed today) - and the new kitchen units can go in next week. Also, as the plasterer finishes, the radiators can be put back on the walls and we will have heating again.

The woodburner is being installed on 2nd June.

So, hopefully we should be in by end of June.

We are putting our house up for sale soon and will start moving the bulk of the stuff as soon as we have a buyer (we want them to see it with the furniture in). We do have some we can use in the bungalow, we are downsizing so there will be more furniture than we need. I gave a sofa bed away yesterday to some relations who are furnishing a holiday home.

Anyway, enough rambling nonsense from me, welcome to the new posters - it's nice on here and you're very welcome :)

Nice to hear from you, 7DW!

Well, despite the carp, I have, this morning already, washed my full-length bedroom curtains (cotton), for the first time in, can't remember lol, cleaned the bedroom windows for the first time in, literally, years! ( in my defence due to damaged wrists!), hoovered the window woodwork, and the full-length voiles are washing as we speak.

I've also put the cotton ones back up, yes, damp! They're very thin, and hanging them pulls out the creases so I don't have to iron them! Hahaha!

Part of the reason is because I want to get a new bedstead, and after years of looking, I've finally found one that ticks most of the boxes. So when the guys deliver it, they will install it, so the room would need a deep clean then, and I couldn't face doing it all at once. Hence the windows got tackled.

This makes me sound like a right slattern, but I used to clean far more often than I do now! Even when I was young and single and lived in a bedsit, I would thoroughly clean once a week. Now I'm old and single and live in a pig-sty! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning everyone! Nice to hear from you 7DW! :)

Go Pyxis! You are a busy bee this morning! I'm still sitting here in my pjs trying to motivate myself to move....so far I'm failing!

Re housework, I'm abit of a clean freak, so I actually don't mind it! I can't stand ironing though....probably because I put more creases in than were there to start off with. I like everything to be clean and tidy (that's one thing I seem to have got off my Mam!) and I hate clutter. For me, that saying "tidy house, tidy mind" rings true. If things aren't tidy or clean, then I find it has a detrimental effect on my state of mind.

Days like today though, when it's cold, I'm tired, and the sun has disappeared, well, I just cba! I need another coffee....urghh!

Well done, Pyxis and lovely to see you SDW!

I confess I don't do much housework now due to pain but when I used to I had to be very careful with it because my OCD is very affected by it. I either don't clean at all, literally for months because I cannot bring myself to touch anything dirty and just thought of touching an empty can makes me panic or I start cleaning and I don't stop and it gets very out of control and it makes me horrid to live with. A small coffee stain on a table can cause me hysterics when it swings that way. I always had to clean to a rota with a set amount of hours a day allocated and then stop as soon as the time was up no matter what. It was the only way to stop me going to either extreme.

I need a rant! I'm not expecting any of you to plough through this, but it's vent or smash plates and I like my plates. I can't rant to anyone IRL about this as however angry I am (fuming!), I know it wouldn't be fair to share this with anyone that actually knows FOH.

He was out drinking last night - same as Friday night, and tonight, and every other weekend. I don't mind a pint, a meal, a local band, but all he ever does is get steaming drunk. Week in, week out. Definitely not my idea of fun (not that I was ever invited). Last night I had dinner with a friend then home to watch the end of Eurovision (guilty pleasure lol). FOH was out drinking, as ever.

Was woken up about 3am by the noise of him throwing up. Irritating, but not particularly unusual. I've been that drunk, but not for well over a decade. He's in his mid-40s and still gets so drunk he's sick a good few times a year.

I got up at 8 and went to have a shower. Only to find sh*t all over the bathroom floor. The floor, the bath mat, the toilet seat. That was in addition to the dried-on vomit on the toilet. Fuming doesn't even come close.

I know from past experience that there's no point trying to speak to him at that time in the morning after a session, and I needed to get ready to go out so I had to scrub and disinfect the bathroom before I could have a shower. Got home again at 11.30 and he was still asleep. Woke him up and it's fair to say he was made aware of my displeasure. Made him check the bed and there was sh*t in that too. Including on the pillowcase. The pillowcase! How is that even possible??

He stripped the bed and has taken the bedding to his house to sort it. I've told him there's not a chance in hell he's sleeping here again. Legally I can't back that up as still no completion date but I'm not in the mood to be argued with right now.

He did his usual "I'm sorry, I'm p*ssed off with myself" but sorry doesn't remove the image of that pillowcase!

I'd only changed the bed and cleaned the bathroom the day before. When I go to sleep in a nice clean bed, I expect to wake up in a nice clean bed - sudden outbreaks of dysentery aside. I really don't think that's unreasonable.

Ok - apologies about the massive rant, and the rather unsuitable subject matter!
