The odd socks thing is weird. I wear odd socks all the time - life is too short to waste time matching socks. However, some people with MH issues may be unable to wear odd socks, so...nope. Can't think of a reason.

I'm dealing with the fallout of yesterdays fat comments. The mean little voice in my head is telling me that I should just die because I'm fat, ugly and disgusting. I have decided to deal with that by eating a whole family sized pack of sensations and half a bar of chocolate.

I think it's just a silly idea like wearing a blue t-shirt or a pink ribbon. I don't think it's supposed to imply anything about people with MHP (mental health problems). If wearing odd sox gets people talking, though, I think it's quite a good idea. I guess they are thinking that people will ask about the odd sox and that will start a conversation about MH???????

OMG - it IS related! https://1010.org.au/events/odd-socks-day

Oh well, anything that gets people talking, I guess......
Ah so it is a thing

I guess in that respect it makes sense, though under business dress im not sure people will notice socks, but it should be the thought that counts. It certainly opened up debate on her post and got people talking if nothing else :)

Well, it's not a dispenser as such! But close enough!

Odd socks day is a light-hearted approach to reminding people that anyone can have an odd day.
An odd day? How bizarre to link having an odd day with mental health problems.

This one, on the other hand, doesn't dispense cuddles, but if you cuddle it, it dispenses cakey goodies! :rotfl:

Code, you are NOT all those things you said. :naughty:

People don't realise what seems an innocent throwaway comment to them can affect other people. Our old boss used to say stuff like that to everyone, even me (and I was really skinny a few years back, not so much anymore!), we got on really well, so we could banter back and forth, but even so, his remarks were somewhat close to the bone sometimes.

That half man cuddle cushion both appeals to me and freaks me out in equal measures! :)

I too think the odd socks thing is quite weird, if not a little bit patronising.

Odd socks seems weird to me too.

Just got my esa review result - apparently there is nothing wrong with me. Just want to curl up on a corner and cry for the rest of the day
:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A
