Am sick of being undervalued at work and am always the strong one with family/friends so I think my body and brain are yelling "OI!" at me
HBS x
(((HBS))). Think we all have times like this. It's hard. I'm definitely the 'strong one' in my family too. I can get through funerals without crying, I can organise stuff... but sometimes we all just need a day in the duvet fort and for someone else to bring us cups of tea and stroke our hair. Take care x.0 -
Thank you tea lover
I am welling up a bit!
I do wonder if it's hormones too. I have an appointment to go and discuss this so will definitely be bringing up how I'm feeling day-to-day.
HBS x"I believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another."

Hormones are horrible. I'm sure they do some good stuff (I'm clearly no biologist lol) but I think they have a lot to answer for. Have a good cry, does you the world of good sometimes. Here's a slightly dodgy-looking group hug... :grouphug:
Am determined to cross off some nagging jobs this weekend. Friday afternoons are always housework day (yes, my life is that exciting :rotfl:). So in addition to the usual excitement of cleaning the house, the plan for this weekend is to sort out my wardrobe, take photos of the latest knitting then find somewhere to put it away, sort out some photos, and look into making a birthday card for my sister.
Am scared I might never come out of the wardrobe again, it's a complete tip in there. If I don't post tomorrow please send a search party... on the plus side, maybe I'll find Narnia0 -
Sounds like you need a duvet day hbs. Wish I'd had one. There is nobody on my team in the office today.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I'm totally alone in the office - well, in the building really. We work in a small building on a large site. The other person here doesn't work fridays so I get the place to myself. Was nice for a while but now have spent too much time on my own, have gone a bit feral lol. Am going to struggle when I get a new job and have to speak to people... and remember not to sing to myself.... and not ignore the phone :rotfl:. I am clearly a right catch in the job market!0

Hugs or warm handshakes to all those who are feeling rubbish. I was feeling the same, in a meeting earlier, just thinking how rubbish I am at my job and how everyone else seems to have secured some income for their charity. So I'm gonna get off here and do some fundraising!!!!! (I want to join Gitdog tho just cos of the cuteness factor!)
Love to all, though - and anti-paranoia thoughts to WaS and Luceexxx

Not sure if this is penguin or not but just in case
Stressy night last night, middle son (aspergers), feeling sensitive about something that happened at 6th form which then put youngest son (complex autistic) out of sync. So I had youngest slamming doors and middle shouting, getting aggressive and finally kicking his shoe at me (plus a few boxes).
I had a good cry and did the old woe is me thing for a little while but resisted the urge to get into my car and drive off into the distance.
Back to normal this morning, middle son is no longer sensitive or aggressive and youngest, although still a little out of sorts, went off to college fine, albeit absolutely exhausted (his many conditions has that impact on him).
End of penguin.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Anyone in an unpaid caring role is fully entitled to the odd "woe is me". Anyone who is sleep deprived for any reason, let alone the responsibility for other people, who manages to get on with it without killing someone deserves a medal in my book.
hope you manage a calmer night tonight. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Top tip.
When alone in the house don't have a bath on your tummy if your cats like to sit on you in the bath.
I was just minding my own business in a liquorice oil scented bath when they each took one of the two islands created by bottom and upper back/ shoulders. Rocking doesn't work as they just dig their claws in. Thank goodness it wasn't bubble bath, they love bubble bath, I would have had to wait till the water was cold and all the bubbles disappeared.0 -
