  • Oh, Melly I am sorry. You have to look after you in this, do scream for help if you need it and don;t take on more than you can handle if an alternative is available.

Take care katy, I hope you felt better as the day went on.

Aw, elsien! I bet your clothes and hair are wonderful!

I ended up going to bed just to shut my mind off for a while, I am ridiculously paranoid right now. I am hoping the nap helped plus woke up to TOTM so PMS may have been part of it. I hope.

Can I just post something funny please?
I went out today looking absolutely awful. I mean baggy, faded old hoodie, old bobbly joggers and a bobble hat. And when I was happily wandering round the shops wallowing in my skankiness, I nearly ran into one of the forwards from my rugby team. Who is rather attractive :o I may have squealed and swung myself away as fast as my crutches would carry me (not very)
I hope everyone is ok. Some very sad posts on here and I'm sorry to hear what some people are going through in their lives at the moment. Not too well physically myself (mentally Im a little better- just managed to scald myself with a hot cup of tea so still not to be trusted with some aspects of life but there you go) sending hugs and warm handshakes to all.

She wants to come home I know that the care will fall to me but I'm going to support it OH can't walk at the min so hospital means he can't see her

Please think very fully about this.

Can you ask for help from a local hospice? Can your MIL go there as respite for you?

You must tell anyone who's trying to discharge MIL about your SIL, your husband's and your own problems otherwise you're just gonig to be left to it.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

MU - Occ Health is good! (guess where I work lol :)) Please try not to see a referral as some sort of punishment, it's there to help you... honest!

MU - occupational health helped me too. I thought it was going to be all negative but it was really just a way of seeing how they could support me so I can continue to work. They protected me under the equalities act (as it is in Scotland) so they can't do disciplinary action if my condition means I go off sick again.

Would they really give you a verbal warning for forgetting to clock in? I forget all the time and my manager just put an update in manually. Its not like your manager doesn't know if you were there. Hugs. Everything is going to be ok.

Melly - sorry about your mil. I hope you can get a care plan sorted that suits you.

Mrs Ryan - whenever I go out looking fantastic, I never see anyone. When I go out looking like I've been dragged through the nearest hedge, its pretty much guaranteed that I'll bump into someone hot or an ex. I used to work in a uni and we had a French guy who looked a lot like a slightly less wild Chabal and one day he came up to the counter to ask for help in his lovely French accent and I just fell apart. I ended up passing him over to my colleague because I couldn't string a sensible sentence together (I'll also point out I was engaged to Mr Monkey at the time). I am no good around hotness.

Yesterday a builder was so busy looking at me he wheeled his wheelbarrow into the kerb and fell over. No idea why as I wasn't wearing makeup and my hair was a mess and I wasn't wearing my balaclava so I didn't stand out in any way, but I'll take it.:rotfl:

    Morning all.
Gitdog would like to invite anyone feeling fragile, or otherwise in need of a duvet day to play a game of sardines with him.

  • Melly, be sure there's a good care plan in place - you sometimes have to push quite hard. I am so sorry for the hard news though.

Ahhh Elsien he is SUCH a sweetie :)

    PENGUIN:

Just feel like I'm dropping further and further mentally at the moment, like I'm in a sort of bubble.

I'm disgusted with what I see in the mirror, I never feel like I'm good enough and worst of all I feel weak - even more so for thinking like this.

I have my mum, a lovely OH, a very cute dog and a nice full life....so I feel like I should be grateful, not angry and sad.

This is very unlike me which makes it even worse.

Sorry to offload on you all. :'(

    END PENGUIN

I think my house might get a sofa duvet fort tonight.

I think we've all felt like that from time to time. So. Here is the codemonkey guide to shutting that voice up.
Tell yourself you are good enough and you're not a failure. Acknowledge that you feel the way you feel and that's ok. Have a wee cry if you have to. Then find some very loud, upbeat preferably cheesy music - as cheesy as you can stand as long as you love it. I personally like status quo for this part. Bop your head along with the music. If you're alone, get up and dance - cheesiest moves you can. If you're at your desk, do the sitting down dance. Its not a cure but it will get your endorphins flowing a bit. You are not alone.

  • Thank you codemonkey.

Am sick of being undervalued at work and am always the strong one with family/friends so I think my body and brain are yelling "OI!" at me :)
