Is there something else you could do with your Mum today (if you feel up to anything?) Maybe take some food round and have a picnic in the garden as it's a nice day.
(((hugs))), there's no easy way round this xx.0 -
Why don't you ring your mum back and suggest to go some place else?
We're going somewhere tomorrow instead.
Trouble is, I'm finding it hard to get motivated to do much at all. I know this sounds bad, but when I'm with my Mam, it just reminds me that my Dad is not there.
In the year since his cancer diagnosis, we made sure we went to lots of places and crammed a lot in, so we spent a lot of time together, and now I'm finding it very hard because he was always there.
As stated, my Dad had a wicked sense of humour and loved trying new things. We found the same things fun and interesting, whereas my Mam finds garden centres interesting and I do not.
I guess I'm just having abit of a bad day. Some days I can just feel myself retreating from things and I just want to snuggle up on the sofa. I know I'm probably not being fair, but it's how I'm feeling right now.0 -

It doesn't sound bad at all GG, it sounds completely reasonable and understandable. Your mum probably has similar feelings - wanting to see you, finding it hard to see you, feeling bad for finding it hard, wanting to stay in bed and shout at the world. All perfectly normal for both of you.0

Lots of love Georgie. I would agree with going somewhere elase with your Mum, it took a long time for me to go back to Dad's favourite places without getting upset.
Meeting went OK, the HR lady was lovelyshe says I can take time out of my work day when I need to and if I get too overwhelmed I can take half days at short notice!

I have done one of the not-actually-that scary, scary things
Asked someone at work to witness my signature on the transfer docs from the solicitor. That can go back to them now, hopefully not much longer to go.

Glad your meeting went well HBS, sounds like a really good outcome!
Well done on doing the Scary Thing Tea! Do you have a count down until FOH leaves?
Big hugs Georgie, it must all feel so raw still but do try to enjoy the places you used to go with your Dad as I'm sure he'd want you to enjoy the memories you had rather than avoid them because they hurt. Some more ((hugs))Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
