I've done something that's not very money saving at all.

Following on from the "meh" concert experience earlier, I've booked a seated ticket to see them again.

On a day between shifts - finishing the morning of the day before, going down that day, booking a room for that night going home again the following morning and going back on shift that night.

    In London's indigo @ the O2.

And I've booked a stay at a 4 star hotel to go along with that.

And I've still got to book transport.

I dunno.......more money than sense me......

But I really, really like them....
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Enjoy it Gingernutty! I should really have saved the money from not paying council tax and water rates during the payment break, I have spent it all on meeting animals instead. Sometimes you have to treat yourself, especially if it's something you enjoy! Have fun and don't feel guilty!

Aw, hugs code. Sorry Mr code is being an idiot. Fortunately, the only thing WaSp is into is motor racing which doesn't happen often, but when it does I know that I am single for the duration. He is wonderful at looking after me the rest of the time but nothing comes between him and his cars. Oh and that applies to Top Gear as well. The house could burn down around him and he would still be glued to the screen.

Yes well, chest sizes. I could write my book on mine. I don't think men have looked me in the eye since I was around 14...

Aw, JM! I would love penguin socks! It is never too late for penguins! Thank you so much for thinking of me!

In other news its turns out WaSp's Valentines plants are free. I had bought him 3 cacti displayed in a glass jar. It had clearly been tipped upside down by the courier and soil was everywhere and there was a break in one segment of a plant that was tipped on its side. So instead of keeping quiet as I usually do I wrote to the company and complained. They wrote back offering a new plant or a full refund.

You are all going to think I am bonkers here, WaSp did but I hate taking advantage of people (I feel guilt about everything) so I wrote back and said I don't expect a full refund because 2 of the plants are fine, I was just letting them know for the future. They wrote back and insisted I take a full refund and also are going to give me a £20 voucher which they didn't offer in the first place and thanked me for being so understanding. I probably got the voucher too because I am the only person who has ever attempted to refuse a refund! (still feel guilty). So we shall use that to buy Milliefleur a surprise bunch of flowers! Plus the company have won me over for excellent customer service. Moonpig, I am looking at you.

There you are! It pays to be honest and reasonable!

You are both very wise! Buying 'things' rarely buys long-lasting happiness. On the other hand, buying experiences does; you have the pleasure of the event, and then the pleasure of the memory over and over again!

It's not a waste of money - it's an investment in your personal development and in your present and future well-being, one that pays a great dividend, every year for the rest of your life! :D
    Martin would be proud!

    I am pleased!
I was on the waiting list for a special holiday in the autumn that was fully booked.
Anyway, I got an email to say that they'd had a cancellation and would I like a place? I certainly would!
A bit naughty, as my income situation is up in the air, but I'm banking on it being sorted by the autumn, and this holiday is a very special one that I'll remember for ever!

Concerts, days out, meeting animals - all amazing memories and well worth the money in my opinion :)

My sister had a big birthday this week and I've arranged a day out for her, me and her daughter. Train to big city, theatre matinee, dinner. I felt a bit bad that her present includes me lol, but she's v excited and I know the three of us will have fun.

We're having little family party this aft (all 5 of us lol). Have been trying to make pirate cupcakes since 8am. Not a resounding success so far :rotfl:
