Good morning,
as usual I've had a quick skim through to keep up. Such a shame to see so many people struggling in all different areas of life. Spring is just around the corner so hopefully that will start to perk people back up again soon.
I'm going to try and continue my positives so yesterday:
1. my dear inlaws for retrieving DS2 from nursery so I didn't have to walk the mile and a half and then feeding them both so I could just drink tea
2. Wine - I made risotto with HM veggie stock. Risotto needs wine so I had a small glass
3. Living in a house of Lightsabers, Superheroes and Lego. I am completely outnumbered but I was born to a mummy of boys.
4. NO SNOW !!!
This morning I have had a letter offering me a 0% balance transfer until May 2016 so going to take this up ASAP as I'm paying interest on both CC and will also mean I can transfer the whole lot onto one card.
Going to have a mad eBay listing frenzy today as it's the last day of 100 free listings. Last month gained around £85 so I'm on a mission!!!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00 -
Stewby - so sorry to hear about the boiler, we had the same thing a couple of weeks ago, it's really not the weather for it! Hope you're OK.
Drowningindebtlondongirl - good luck with the interview.
Welshkitty - hope things are less hectic today, remember to look after yourself!
I am feeling quite positive. Trousers hemmed last night, so a job finally done, and yesterday was a SFD - today should be as well, fingers crossed! Did some mindfulness meditation for my 15 mins.
Today I am grateful for - a quiet day in work yesterday which let me catch up with a few things, january rush at the gym being over so lots of room to get dressed this morning, good book from the library.
Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Good Morning
Well today has already been epic as had to get up early to go and let the builders in. Walked the journey in the snow, but really it was fine. They were late arriving (of course) but seem to be underway now. So I am back at home.
Well I am proud to say today is a hat trick on the NSD front. I am shocked really as I never seem to manage easy runs, but I have! I think this time it is due to good shopping & meal planning over the last week. And then things just being stretched a bit more some how. I thought I'd have to shop on Monday but have got through to today, & can see we have dinner ready to go, lunchbox items enough to do both the boys for tommorow, bread, butter, milk, so I dont think I need anything today.
Plus its freezing so Im going to sit here & drink coffee for a bit & dont need to venture out again till the school run.
Hope everyone is well.

Sorry to hear about the boiler Stewby, mine was very reluctant to come on last night.;-(
Drowningindebtlondongirl fingers and toes crossed for your interview.
Today vast improvement, turned up on right day for Drs appointment. and hey ho their scales weigh me at 8lbs less. Smear test over for 5 yrs now.
Yesterday I had to pay another 13 pounds in dentist so unfortunately lost my sfd. Had x rays, impressions made, then realized when walking around shops later, still had lump of orange plasticine on my neck.
Not planning any spending today as now have to save madly for my crown.Yes Queen turtle I wish more like 180.00 dentist crown.
Got stupid amount of food in the house, not as bad as that family on Eat well for less programme last week. How much snow was I expecting.
So my sfd 1/15 so far not a brilliant start.
Will catch up reading in a bit, when bosses are out of office. Have a lovely day folks, brilliant sunshine out there, mountains looked lovely covered in snow this morning.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Calling that family... I could not believe their average weekly shop!! I spend half that in a MONTH!! Then I looked in my cupboards and did have the good grace to be a bit embarrassed by my stockpiling. Zombie apocalypse, when it comes, is well catered for... :rotfl:
cupcake-queen that is amazing news on the CC 0%.. well done!! I saw your last post and sympathised fully with the head in the sand about the statements. I remember finally looking at mine when it became obvious a windfall due to me from my ex was never going to appear... and realising that in a year I had only paid £30 off the actual £1000 balance due to the horrific interest, despite paying that a monthonce I got it shifted to 0% I blitzed through it!
MagicCat I am so sorry I keep meaning to say HIIIII and welcome back!! SO good to see you backhope you are feeling much much better now
xx
So... yesterday I had a forced spend day as paid nursery fees for the month, so did a weeks shopping, picked up nappies/wipes for the rest of the month, bought my friend a beautiful scarf for £5 with free collection nearby, bought a rucksack for £9.99, a whole penny under my budget for onebought Jelly's books with 21% cashback (-£2.80), 20% off the order (-£11.87) and free delivery (saving me £2.99). This means that today is NSD #2 :T looking bright for the rest of the week to be NSD's too as I have all the meals, bread and milk I could possibly need.
Just about to go and batch cook some butterbean and chorizo soup to get rid of some of my stockpileand have a phone call this afternoon to switch an almost redundant bank account over to the Yorks Bank for £150
Have a lovely rest of your Tuesday guys xx

yesterday wasn't spend free as we went to the pub after our 12 mile walk. OH really annoyed me though as he bought me an anniversary card after i told him not to bother as i'd not been out due to the snow.It cost £3.50:eek: and wasn't that big and will be in the recycling within the next couple of days.
budgets set for the month, hoping to reduce the food bill by another £20. In the process of planning what to do with the kids over the half term break next week.trying to make it as cheap but fun.
Spent £55 today on shopping and that includes a duvet at £6 as my mum is stopping over during the week and DD2 now has to have 2 duvets as she feels the cold alot so needed another one.
Positives:1)feeling loved
2) the power of chocolate mini eggs to help deal with bad news
3)my baby sister feeling she can offload to me.budgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(
time for me :fat chance0 -

I had to pay quite a big fee to get it moved but 1 card is now clear YAY! I am paying a bit of interest on some of the balance but usually when I do a massive transfer like this I get another offer from the other card so if and when that arrives I will transfer the bit I'm paying interest over. I aim to be rid of them by the end of the year but may need to take it to May 2016. Once this OD is out of the way (which I've made really good progress on considering it was at £1500 in October) I'm going to start over paying them. I'm so determined this time and these challenges are really helping - I'll be sticking around for sometime!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00 -
Hi everyone!
MagicCat thanks for the wise words. Today has been a bit better but I'm still not feeling organised. I'm thinking about starting sw diet again. Partly because I wouldn't mind losing a bit of weight before my holiday in June, but also because I ate much healthier when I was following it and it helped me plan my meals.
Today has been a spend day. DH has put £15 fuel into his car and butchers shop was £28.30.
I have been asked if I want to join an exercise class costing £10 for 5 weeks. I'm thinking about it atm.
I'm going to get back to assignments for a while now before I pick the children up. I am determined to make a head start on them so it's not a last minute rush again.0 -
Hi everybody, I'm starting to get my ducks in a row, trying to keep up with everyone but hugs, sticks, congratulations and commiserations to those who need them.
as regards the challenge rules here goes
1 My debt free date is so far in the future that I am going to try and pay £2000 off this year
2 I am doing YNAB and will allocate money as I get my different payments throughout the month, anything left will also go to debts, or repairs needed in house
3 NSD 2/15
4 Am going to do 7 fruit/veg a day, more if possible
5 Exercise, will be starting aquarobics on Thursday and over 50's exercise next week as well
6 Basics and yellow stickers are already sought after
7 Travel by car and bus, will try taking the bus more when I can
8 Food bank - try to give something each visit to tessimos -already given long life milk - 90p/£7
9 Take dog out at least 10mins each day
10 Focus on change needed in life -need to find things to do, places to visit at lowest/free cost, already going to museum and
music thingy. Telephone friends I am in danger of losing touch with.
11 Boycott eateries and cafes - can't do this much as my social life is meeting for lunch weekly, and for coffee with sil and with a friend. I can and will do this if I am by myself , home for lunch and carry a bottle of water with me
12 My 15mins will be pampering with creams and all the nice toiletries I have stockpiled.
My budgets for the month are
Food/household/dog £64/£400
Fuel £0/80
Food bank 90p/£7
NSD 2/15
House bills £500
Car repairs etc pot £25pcm
Spending money pot £30/£80
Healthy living pot £107pcm
Mum £5 every Monday
My fix it challenge is to go round all the windows in the house and push back in all the rubber seals that keep coming out.
Three things I am grateful for today
1 DD3' job to be made permanent from1st April
2 A lovely warm dog keeping my feet warm as I write
3 Snowdrops and 2 red hot pokers- I kid you not- in the garden
Now I need to communicate with you all every day!!!
DottyNSD 1/3,
My mantra is After I ....I will. eg After I make my morning coffee, I will take my medication. Eventually this will become a habit,0
