As I have mentioned previously on this forum, I do more than my fair share of complaining. Here are some of my more recent complaints:
Wilko
I complained on their Facebook page about their ridiculous curtain pole brackets that were ruining our wall after only being up for one night. They sent me a £15 voucher.
Argos
I complained on their Facebook page about them changing their colour from blue to red :rotfl: I didn't get anything (of course) but their response was pretty funny. I'll try to find it but it'll take a while since their Facebook page is so full of 'serious' complaints!
Pampers
I complained to them about persistently explosive nappies, and kindly included a picture. They very generously sent me a £15 nappy voucher (which didn't work when I tried to use it last night lol) and a £5 voucher for washing powder (which did).
Crepeaffaire
I sent them a letter complaining about cleanliness in the one near us. I did try to make it quite humorous because although it was a genuine complaint, it wasn't that big a deal really. I got two full loyalty cards so I could get two free crepes.
Andrex
I sent them a complaint on their Facebook page about how their toilet roll kept splitting when I went to wipe, and I was essentially playing Russian roulette with my lady parts - and I was having to go much more frequently since I was pregnant. They said that since it was amusing they were going to send me a free sample and an Andrex puppy toy for the baby.
Does anyone else whinge about anything and everything? :rotfl:

Were you trying to exchange the Pampers voucher in Screwfix?
I can almost understand why you had a problem.0 -
No, I went to Tesco afterwards. The person behind in the queue was moaning that we were taking too long and so I said the woman could cancel the purchase (she'd put the nappies through separately to see if that'd work so it was only two items) and serve them. She said I could go get a couple more packs instead and see if there was a 'minimum spend', but it still didn't work.
Then my husband kept whispering to me that I should apologise to the people behind as though it was my fault. I told him to get stuffed (well, not quite) - it was his shopping too! Last time I stick up for him anyway when that's all the thanks I get0 -

In that case, what are they doing on Facebook?0

Hmm, well, in a former life I complained to B&Q after they ran out of stock on a £50 dishwasher and refused to honour it.
I think that thread was one of the best.0 -

Really?
I know it sounds a bit daft but I usually only complain about the silly things. When it's important I talk myself out of it.
When my baby was 4 weeks old, she was admitted to hospital as she hadn't been able to move her arm, and although they'd said it wasn't urgent, when we finally had the appointment it turned out she had an infection in her shoulder joint. She had an operation to drain it and came back with pressure sores on her bottom! And then there was some umming and ahhing about whether they were pressure sores or burns (they agreed they were pressure sores by the end of our two week stay). Then her PICC line for antibiotics blocked because the doctors on that particular ward didn't believe they needed heparin in them to stop them clogging - they'd told me it wouldn't happen just hours before when it had happened to the baby opposite. One doctor told me her shoulder joint was 'destroyed, but not completely' - very optimistic. The whole thing was a nightmare and various staff told me to make a complaint, but I just didn't know where to start with it and ended up not bothering. The infection cleared up and her arm is perfect (the physio even said so) - she has a full range of movement.
That's the sort of thing I should probably complain about but that situation is unlikely to ever happen again and I just figured there was no point - what would they change? It was exhausting even trying to think about it in the depth I would have had to to make a complaint.
On the other hand, complaining to Wilko about three curtain poles hanging off the wall because of poor design was easy to get off my chest and they might reconsider the design. Andrex might make their toilet roll stronger, Pampers may make their nappies less leaky and Crepeaffaire promised to clean their tables and cutlery better (the dishwasher was broken, apparently). I didn't expect anything in return - but it was a nice bonus.0 -

Yes sent BG an email telling them how disappointed I was the engineer had broken the appointment they had made (Monday after Christmas and only a service call so hardly urgent but that was the only date they could offer me apart from Christmas Eve.
Got a call from a charming lady checking I had remade the appointment and that the engineer had attended and I was happy and then went on to tell me that although I was entitled to £40 for the no show she had doubled it to £80 as they had been slow responding.
I rrealize the OP doesn't work so has time to make trivial complaints but I work and tend to only complain about important stuff.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I considered it praise for companies that took the time to respond. I just felt a bit lost without my other thread to be honest so thought I'd share a bit more! Will look for somewhere else to pass the time though I think. Any suggestions?
Even when I worked I had time for complaints. I complained on behalf of a friend one time when she found a little piece of blue plastic in her dip from Morrisons. And when a bus driver gave me a weekly ticket without a cover thing on it - I compared it to buying a DVD without a case to stop it getting scratched. I got a free ticket and since then they just let you on the bus if they don't have any ticket covers.
It's almost as if it's a hobby lol...0
