I have not heard anything since but yesterday i recieved a bill for over £300 from the banks solicitors for thier services can anyone help in this matter as i am unsure of the next move
They shouldn't be submitting a claim to you at all. Suggest you challenge their bill and say that there is no retainer in place between you.0 -
hi i have been following the test case and would like to know now the test case is finished does the oft have to keep waiver in place until the judges verdict,or is this a seperate issue.0

I've recently logged a claim for unfair bank charges. I have lived and worked in England for the last 10 years but my account was originated in Scotland and I submitted my claim there at the branch which sends me my bank statements.
Can I pursue my claim in Scotland through the small claims court as others have done successfully, after the 'stay' was put in place in August?????
All tips and hints greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bhoydy0 -

The OFT has no control over the waiver - it was introduced by the FSA.
The waiver wiil stay in place as long as the stays do.0 -

Since making my claim I have not been using the bank account to which I'm said to 'owe' money, and the charges have been adding up and up, but I have been offered a surprisingly high discount if I agree to pay back the money I 'owe' (The discount is equal to all the charges added since the claimwas stayed).
Are the banks running scared?
Has anyone else recieved such an offer?
I declined it (I hope I was right to) and agreed to pay back my 'debt' at a rate of £1 a lunar month, I will be over 700 years old by the time it is repaid if we don't win!0 -
Hi, not exactly the same but today I received a letter from Abbey informing me they were refunding my charges of £1300. This was apparently because I have not used the account for a year.
I must admit I am a bit confused as to why they would do this because my original claim (last year) resulted in me getting the £540 of charges returned and since then I haven't put in a claim for the current charges (which occured from a £5 pending charge when the last claim was settled).
Still nice surprise, and I hope others will be as lucky!0 -
