  • If I submit a claim for illegal bank charges, can banks still threaten
to close my account, and, if so, will I be able to open a new account
with another bank, given that my credit rating is less than perfect?

could you up load a copy of this letter minus, of course, the personal details. There have been quit a few people getting this kind of response from their banks,i would be interested in reading the substance of the correspondence and i'm sure others would to.

The banks are free to enter into any agreement they so wish, this does not divest you of your legal right to pursue your action.
Any posts by myself are my opinion ONLY. They should never be taken as correct or factual without confirmation from a legal professional. All information is given without prejudice or liability.
  • :eek:Q: I started a claim to my bank over two months ago but have recived no reply from them. My claim was backdated the allowed six years. If the test case takes some time to come to its conclusion, will I still be able to claim the original amount even thought by then some of the charges will have gone beyond the six year window?

Q: If in the meantime the bank charges me again, can I claim that too? What can i do?
    ;)
  • Hiya, I have just read that if I am on income support I can claim back my charges regardless of what's going on. I was self employed when some of the charges occured, does this matter.

letters to and from yourself and the banks...all court replies/solicitors also schedule of charges and anything you can rake up to support your argument..why not go on CAG site and list all the claimants that have sucessfully received full payouts...try and get your T&C from when you opened the account...
