I was also told when I phoned RBS to discuss my account that I should have phone a new number for Williams and Glyn as my account was in the process of being switched. So perhaps accounts that are being switched are just getting old style cards. Who knows? Anybody on here work for RBS??
Yeah the accounts have been split now. So England & Wales customers of RBS have to call 0345 900 0400 for telephone banking.
I believe they may be parming off the old card designs to customers who are being divested as the cards will be rebranded to Williams & Glyn anyway by the end of 2016.
Anyone work for RBS? See my signature however I do not work in a branch.

Going off topic a bit but does anyone bank with Santander.
There cards always have a white smudge in the middle which I assumed was from a dodgy print, but its in everyones.
Also they issued an offline card to my relative with a basic account but gave me an election online flat card with a 123 account. Bit weird.0 -

Yeah it's just an odd design on their cards. That's very strange with the basic account though, as their basic account comes with an ATM only cash card, not a Visa Debit. So I wonder how it works if it is indeed a basic account. I thought they didn't issue electrons anymore ? Just Visa Debits with black print instead of silver, for those who can't get a contactless card.0 -

It was issued early last year, silver print sticking out, non contactless but Santander were not issuing contactless cards when it was issued I don't think.
EDIT: Sorry its a Visa debit, but looks the same as an electron.
Im sure its an election, black letters, a flat card, I have always had this since I got the account about eight years ago with Abbey, they replace it with the same one. It looks the same anyway.0 -

I think, and this is just a wild guess, the the 'New' design cards are only for customers in Scotland (Or with accounts at Scottish Branches), and the old card design is still being given to customers with English branches as those customers will be moving to Williams and Glyn anyway ?.0

Yes that's what I think I'm in the process of transferring my account from an English to a Scottish branch.
As the cards being sent was originally for the customers being transferred to Santander before the deal collapsed.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
