Not done a lot today. Didn't get up until gone 9, which is unheard of in this house. So must have really needed the sleep. OH is still sleeping in the spare room, since I have been bad. but he has started with a cold and dodgy throat now as well, so hoping that clears up quick.

Started on the decluttering today, sat and cleared out my PJ drawer and will make polishing cloths with the old ones. Not got the energy for much more, but hoping for more improvement in the week as definitely think I am on the mend....just seems to be a very slow process.

Hoping for more exciting news to write about as the week progresses.
Hope you all had a good weekend.

Glad you are on the mend now. Take it easy. Well done on the decluttering!

Quick update before I try and summon the energy to do the washing up.
Had a bad night, awake for hours and coughing loads again. After my good night on Saturday, I was hoping I had turned a corner. But obviously not. Still got 2 antibiotics left to take (1 a day), so hoping I keep moving in the right direction. At least the horrible achy muscles have stopped, although I do still feel very weak and breathless if I move much.
OH took me down for my chest Xray earlier, but he has started a cold himself now and seems to be affecting his throat. Hoping it doesn't go to his chest like mine did...keeping everything crossed. He has gone to work, as says not feeling bad enough to stay off, but then I worry he is infecting everyone else in his office. I keep telling him to spray keyboards and phones etc with antibac spray.

Paid another £5 mortgage over payment today, :T so feeling very proud of myself. I am sure being ill is helping as I am not going out and having to spend...no extra petrol and not really eating much at the moment.

So plans for rest of day....although I have only just realised it is 12.44 already!! Where does the time go?
Print of a couple of photos to send to my mum....I have finally got round to writing her a letter. She is in a care home, 150 miles away so we don't get to see her much and I never write to her enough, so this is one of my new year plans, to write more often. I like to send her pictures of our GS's, her GGS's, as they grow so fast and she sees them very, very rarely. DD lives 5 mins from us, which is great for us, but not so for the rest of the family down south.

If I can muster the energy I am going to damp dust, a couple of rooms and clean the bathroom, but not sure how far I will get
Then got to write a packing list as we are supposed to be going away for a few days at beginning of Feb and I can't function without a list....:rotfl:

Enjoy the rest of the day everybody.

Feeling slightly improved today, although wondering if it is a case of the "mind is willing but the body is weak"! Started washing the pots but had to sit down half way through as had a massive coughing fit. All done now though.
Just having a quick drink break and then going to get dressed and try a walk to the post box. Apart from being taken to the Dr & X-ray in the car, I haven't been out since Christmas day. Post box is only about a 5 min walk and the sun is shining, so I am hoping to make it and that it will do me good. I can't believe this infection has floored me so much...must be a sign of getting old....:rotfl:

OH, is so far not too bad with his virus. So hoping it goes quickly.

Plans for the rest of the day....

Finish writing packing list for our few days away beginning of Feb
    Iron OH's work shirts
Order new filter for cooker hood
Send some flowers to my DIL, who is going through a bad time

Hope everyone has a good day

Well, good day so far. Feeling a little bit better all the time. The walk to the post box was not the best of ideas though as it was a lot windier than I had realised, so had scarf round my face so I didn't breathe in the cold air. What should have been about 8 min round trip, probably took me about 12 mins and I was well and truly exhausted when I got back. But the main thing is it is the furthest I have been since Christmas, :T so an achievement I feel. Tomorrow I will try a bit more if the weather is ok and also try getting out my Tai Chi DVD and see how that goes.

Sent DIL some flowers and started my packing list, which I will finish in a bit. Not yet done the other things on the list, spent too much time trying to rest and get better....and watching 2 episodes of Marie Kondo's new show from Netflix. Have read her book and actually find her quite inspirational and am using her ideas in my decluttering, although not always in the same order as she suggests. We did the whole house, apart from the garage and shed a couple of years ago, but feel we have slipped a bit and got more clutter that we don't need, so having another go. Just need to get OH on board again, as he was great about sorting his clothes, but not so good about the actual clutter.... :rotfl:

Managed to make a fish pie with some fish that was sitting in the freezer begging to be used, so just waiting for that to cook.

Paid another £4 OP on the mortgage today, so another accomplishment. :T

Hope everybody else is having a good day.
Thanks for reading as always :)

Had a bad night, awake a lot and coughing again. Not sure if it was because it was so cold last night and we don't have the heating on at night. Couldn't get comfortable and then had the most strange dream. Had a lot of odd dreams since I have been poorly. Having had my dream interpreted my sister who is good at things like this, she thinks it means that my life is changing a bit and I am not sure if I am on the right path. She said a similar thing with the dream I had at the weekend as well, certainly makes me think.
I currently have 2 part time jobs and one if them is possibly going to come to an end in the next few months. :( There are so many things I want to do, that I have always felt I don't have time for and don't think I will be replacing the job...it is only 7.5 hrs a week.
I am also thinking I will tell DD that I can only have the GS's 2 nights a week after school, the days I don't work. Having them on a work day is such a rush for me to get home in time and then I stress a bit. Also don't want them when they are full of coughs and colds. Not sure if that makes me a selfish nanny, but I am 62 and not the healthiest...(this is one of the things I want to work on, more exercising for my Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis and increasing my lung capacity which I hope in turn will help my heart condition. I love having the boys and realise we are very lucky to have such wonderful GS's, but I need it to be only when I feel up to it and actually have time.

Hopefully now I have decided on those things, I will feel better in myself as I think I still have a few emotional issues stopping me from getting physically better.

    So list for today is

    Finish the packing list
Try and hoover at least one room without it making me too breathless
Message my friend, which I forgot to do yesterday.
    [STRIKE]Check Bank accounts [/STRIKE]
    Ironing
    Order new cooker hood filter

    Have a good day everyone.

Also descaled the kettle and decided its time for a new one. It has served us well for 12 years. So just deciding what to go for. Whether to just order online or wait until I can go in a shop and see how they feel. Don't want anything too heavy.

Just a couple of jobs I can do later while watching TV.

Managed to hoover bedroom and landing, but felt quite exhausted afterwards. Never mind, onward and upward.

Well done on the list completions!

It is not at all selfish to say no to having the grandkids on a work day or when they are ill. If your children are not happy about it, then that's them being selfish not you. If you don't look after your health, you won't be able to have them at all!
