I know where your comming from, you spend alot of time effort and money making a place look nice just for it to be trashed.
it's been nearly 7 months since I moved into my new home, spent a lot of money and effort doing the place up, new rads, Farrow and Ball painted walls, new carpets, new sound system worth over £1k, didn't last 4 months, my 1 year old and 4 year old decided to start writting on my walls, even on my grills on my subwoofer which I can't even take the marks out, i've given up touching up the walls every other week.
Point is when you have young kids in a house these things will happen and it's really difficult stopping them.
Lesson learnt I say. Don't spend too much money on a house if your THINKING of renting out. Good luck with the re decs.Save Save Save:o

.....sorry I do not agree. I believe you should have control over children. Both our children were raised to respect property. If they did not, they were taught.20 plus years as a mortgage adviser for Halifax (have now retired), and I have pretty much seen it all....:D0 -

You can hold whatever opinion you like. When running a business you just to accept the fact that many people will not hold the same views as yourself. Therefore allow for this. You need to be emotionally detached.
Did you make a profit from letting the property? If you did then you've achieved your aim.0 -

Neither did I or DS - some parents obviously don't teach their kids to respect property these days......I think if DS had drawn on any of our walls DH would have banished him to live in the shed, lol
I did when I was 2, although my mum tells me that I was actually colouring in the pattern on the border!
I never did it again, mind. 3 of my cousins are allowed to freely draw on the white walls. Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

But do they have anything other than the agreement to say where their deposit is protected? Details like:
