I do like when the 1st of month is a weekend (or Bank Holiday), as it means no D/Debits and the chance to start the month with an NSD :D

And she's off..... NSD #1 in the bag :T

This month is going to be tougher then I thought, as Friday brought an (almost certain) unexpected bill that will need paying on Tuesday, and then yesterday brought on another!!

Friday my son spotted a chip in my windscreen, and it's looking like it may be about 3mm too big in one direction for them to legally repair it :( A repair would be free, but a replacement means I have to pay a £75 excess  I would have opted to have it sorted tomorrow (as D/Debits will be going out), but I couldn't get an appt until Tuesday - so it looks like no NSD that day.

Yesterday my son pressed the start button on my combi to micro heat some soup, only for the appliance to emit a large 'pop' from the back, throw the ring main fuse, and refuse to show any signs of life since. Not impressed as it's not quite 2 years old, replaced one that wasn't quite 3 years old, and cost me about £250 (meaning it's cost me about 40p a day for the time I've owned it). Going to phone the closest approved repairer (according to manufacturers website) tomorrow morning to see what chance there is of a repair, but if that's not possible I'm not sure how/where/when I'm going to find the money for a replacement :( One thing I do know is that next time I buy one I'm taking out an extended warranty - at least that way I'm guaranteed not to have to buy another for at least 5 years ;)

warranty was only 12 months. I've never known longer (unless bought from A!di) without paying for an extended warranty.

  • WAIT A MINUTE!! STOP THE PLANE!!! I've left my leopard skin mankini in Aberdeen!!
  • FOUND IT!!! It was hiding under NSD#1:j

I'm looking forward to a bit of heat from this African Safari. It's a bit nippy (read baltic) in Aberdeen right now and I'm secretly hoping my football is cancelled tonight as it's outdoors.
  • So,at last, the intrepid but weary NSD gang arrive at The Bjorn Again Safari Lodge, which we soon realise (to our shock!) belongs to The Swedish Chef's brother Bjorn Again....

The Swedish Chef unfortuanately is not with us.He is under arrest, having unleashed the deadly powers of his beloved bazookie on a few chickens on the outskirts of Nairobi. From the bus window... :(

As we arrive,we are treated to a beautiful sunrise, and can hear the roaring of lions in the distance.....

Back to the lodge. There are 44 of us in all and unfortunately there are only 40 rooms.Oh dear. :(

If we want hot water to wash, one of us needs to get on that bike now to get the generator fired up.

Igor bustles off to help in the kitchen,as we are all hungry after the long bus journey.I wonder what culinary delight awaits us....:(

Hubert is already captivated by a few zebras who have come up to investigate the new arrivals, and is prancing around, showing off his sparkly hoofwear.....And he wants stripes, just like his new friends! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hopefully someone will be along later on today for the next thrilling installment!

Well done to all of you who nabbed an nsd yesterday! :j:j:j
