So from that do we take it there was a case to answer and the police weren't interested or they did the right thing?0 -

I was driving down a narrow street with a cyclist close behind me and to my right, I saw a child about to step out from between parked cars; I took avoiding action by swerving right and braking sharply. The cyclist hit the OSR of my car damaging his bike and breaking his wrist.
The cyclist (who was wearing a helmet cam) never saw the child and is convinced I braked hard on purpose and swerved into him to "teach him a lesson" because we had had a minor altercation on another occasion. I have seen the helmet cam footage and because of the angle involved the child cannot be seen in any of the frames.
The police have seen the footage and weren't in the slightest bit interested in my actions, instead telling the cyclist that he should excercise more caution when riding.0 -

So the cyclist ran into the back of you and therefore his fault. I can't see how you were driving dangerously so I hope the OP has a better case than that.0 -

I can only promise it's worth a watch. The report will be going in, and the video will be uploaded to Youtube later for everyone's entertainment.0 -

Cyclists rightfully get angry at the wilful or reckless lack of consideration of some motorists, especially when the cyclist has to take evasive action to prevent injury or worse.
I'd have thought that a motorist should be happy to take the lecture if the alternative was likely to be a year or more off the road for dangerous driving. Many don't see it that way because their pride and self importance gets in the way of common sense.
Possible criminal offences in the OP's scenario could range from nothing to public order to unnecessary obstruction to theft, depending on the behaviour and intent of either party.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -

I'd have thought that a cyclist should be happy to shut up and take the lecture if the alternative was likely to be a year or more off the road for due to injuries from dangerous cycling. Many don't see it that way because their pride and self importance gets in the way of common sense.0 -
How about we stop letting the mode of transport pre-judge what actually happened...?
Road users rightfully get angry at the wilful or reckless lack of consideration of some other road users, especially when the road user has to take evasive action to prevent injury or worse to themself or others.
I'd have thought that a road user should be happy to take the lecture if the alternative was likely to be serious injury or a year or more off the road for dangerous driving. Many don't see it that way because their pride and self importance gets in the way of common sense.
All agreed on that? Great.0 -

I think you've misread the OP's scenario. Your post is for a different thread.
My intention was to post here. In reply to a rather childish post. Not directly related to the OP, as discussions on these forums go.
If you think there is another thread that will benefit from this post being replicated there, please post a link and I will pop over and do what is needed.0
