    Evening elite.

My dear friend's OH has been told he doesn't have a job from tomorrow. He was the main earner in the house. She has a zero hours job which won't be enough to support them or pay the rent. They have no savings and no food in the house and they have a little girl. They're like family to me and I don't know what to do.

Gonna get more info but how can they give him so little notice?
Emma what kind of work does he do?:)

    :)

Tibby has been starved & dropped off at vets :T

Fourp is still here as Mrs Fourp is getting better attention at Ystrad Mynach & it seems to be a positive move for the better :)

She is having 2 days of assessment.

We went to local schools charity Bingo last night & caller called 55 & then announced his birthday & we all sang Happy Birthday :D:D

He enjoyed him self - especially when he only had the number 5 to go for a full house (significant being the 5th for birthday & 55 years ;) )
    And he won :j:j:T:T

  • Morning all...
    Rant alert

I mentioned earlier in the week that we had identified the scumbag that had driven into my daughter and driven away... Well obviously he has denied it and has said it was all my dd2's fault.
All details passed to police but not much hope either that he will get dine for leaving an accident without leaving his details as he could say dd had left ( even though the accident happened in our lane of about 20 houses,1 way in same way out)
It's so frustrating as dd can't claim, 1 st insurance, huge excess ...
I hope karma comes and bites on the bum not just the driver but the company he works for as well:(

I might have misread your previous posts but I was under the impression that you had the reg. no. of the abusive driver from a neighbour who had seen them drive off. Perhaps an independent witness statement highlighting the fact that he left the scene may be sufficient for you to be able to negotiate a cash settlement from them to pay for the damage to be fixed.

I would challenge what he is telling the police and or insurance company on the basis that it makes no sense that he is claiming that the other driver left the scene yet they sustained the most damage to their vehicle and they were the ones who contacted the police and insurance company. Whilst it may seem like it is his word against theirs, it doesn't add up that your neighbour was concerned enough to take his reg. no. if it appeared he had done nothing wrong.

Just one thought, I know it is unlikely but does your dd have legal protection on her insurance? Some companies sneak it in under the radar so it may well be worth checking.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

What do we think about potentially cheap porridge?

Should be 51.8p a box for quaker porridge sachets.

untested so buy at own risk - your in-store apg won't be available until after the mid-day update if that matters, if still missing from msm at 1pm-ish then should be good for the rest of the day.

    £2.58 v £1.22 (at T), however you should pay 2 for £4 in-store
    Mix and match - QUAKER - 2 FOR £4

    Buy in 2's, pay £4 get £2.964 back = 2 boxes for £1.036

These varieties are on offer for £1.22 at T

Quaker Oat So Simple Original (12 per pack - 324g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Variety (9 per pack - 297g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Golden Syrup (10 per pack - 360g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Apple & Blueberry (10 per pack - 360g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Sweet Cinnamon (10 per pack - 330g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Honey & Almond (10 per pack - 330g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Apple, Sultana, Raisin & Cranberry (10 per pack - 385g)
Quaker Oat So Simple Strawberry, Raspberry & Cranberry (10 per pack - 339g)

This one is £1.29 at T so would be post-apg 58.1p/box (when bought in 2s)
Quaker Oat So Simple Strawberry Jam (10 per pack - 332g)

edits: for me really for future reference

edit: not on msm at 12:02pm
edit: not on msm at 12:40pm, individual product has 2 for £4 on A

She does have it.i was apprehensive going to the insurance company because of it being his word against hers and if it's at best a 50/50 claim she would have to pay £500 excess and her policy would go up ... They have admitted they know who the driver is ...CCTV shows him entering the approaching road and leaving all happened in 9 mins:eek: it was the police that said he could say she left without giving her details . I would love to have him strung up by the short and curleys but also don't want to risk her insurance going up as it's in 4 figures as it is being she only got insurance in her own name in July....

If you ring the insurance company (regardless of outcome) it will be recorded and may well increase her premium.

Legal insurance is normally separate, dealt with by another company, might be worth checking but would be surprised if it affected her normal policy. This is precisely the sort of thing it is intended for. She really should inform her insurance company anyway, the company might decide to take the argument all the way. Technically you have to inform insurance companies of any accident involving damage to the vehicle.
