Rant alert
I mentioned earlier in the week that we had identified the scumbag that had driven into my daughter and driven away... Well obviously he has denied it and has said it was all my dd2's fault.
All details passed to police but not much hope either that he will get dine for leaving an accident without leaving his details as he could say dd had left ( even though the accident happened in our lane of about 20 houses,1 way in same way out)
It's so frustrating as dd can't claim, 1 st insurance, huge excess ...
I hope karma comes and bites on the bum not just the driver but the company he works for as well:(
I was hit by someone who denied it, I told my insurance but pursued his insurance, I'm sorry to say the police won't be interested as it's a 'civil matter' but I did get his insurance to pay to fix my car, It did take some work maybe this is the line u can go down? I hope ur daughter isn't put off driving because if this imbycill. Hope u get it sorted & good luck0 -

Is there any CCTV available showing the incident? Private houses often have it now. His employers/Insurers can't wriggle out of it then0 -
Good morning all, snowing here this morning.fairclaire wrote: »Today I drove to Audley court in Shropshire to drop my OH for a 6 week resendtial course
we have been struggling lately.
I know he won't manage 6 weeks and I know I'll probably be picking him up by the weekend and bringing him back here for me to cope with
I feel guilty. I felt absolute relief at making him someone else problem todayI know that sounds terrible
but I did
I have no idea why you feel guilty, without a bit of a break you will break yourself.
I know a little about living with MH problems, my cousin was schizophrenic (he took the only available cure in one of his more lucid moments). My aunt and uncle could not cope, and there was two of them to deal with his problems and moods. I think you are an absolute angel, many would have given up n him long ago.

I know this won't help, but the insurance always say that you must deny responsibility so they can deal with it. If the CCTV is clear enough then all should be OK.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

It is ok to feel relieved. You have both been through, and are still going through a lot, that most of us can't even begin to imagine. You are such a strong lady but even you need help, and a break sometimes. It will do you both the power of good.

A delivery van once reversed into my car and wrote it off. It was only a banger but it was my banger. He embedded the rear step into my radiator and grill, and drove off. There was no way that he didn't know he did it; he had my car hanging off the back of his van! It happened next to a busy rank of shops and someone thankfully spotted it and took a note of the plate amd company.
I passed the details on to the police then was straight on the phone to the company. At first, they didn't want to believe me until they saw the damage to his rear step. I don't know the outcome but his insurance did pay up.

Would the CCTV show him driving out the lane, bur nor your daughter, proving that he drove off, not her?
Also the fact that you are chasing him for the incident, and not the other way around must count for something. Good luck0 -
Good morning all...
Hope everyone is well...its cold here but no snow so I shall be staying in today.
Ds1 has again lost a mobile phone...He lost the last one just before christmas, this one seems to have dissappeared after his weekend away.
If I remember rightly it was a mega cheap one of the very basic variety so not really worth tracing where it may be...the only plus side is I think it costs about £3.00 but theres £3.00 cashback with quidco...
The most time consuming part will be transferring the number!!!

Evening elite.
My dear friend's OH has been told he doesn't have a job from tomorrow. He was the main earner in the house. She has a zero hours job which won't be enough to support them or pay the rent. They have no savings and no food in the house and they have a little girl. They're like family to me and I don't know what to do.
Gonna get more info but how can they give him so little notice?
In the short term the fastest way of getting any work is through a temp agency. Get him signed up with a few, ones doing industrial/commercial work. It may be factory/packing etc. but something is better than nothing.0
