TNS did get back to me to advise that I should have down loaded the brief on the day of the visit. The fact that I down loaded the brief before hand and it was changed - is my problem. It is not unusual to down load briefs before hand IMHO as we don t all have time to do this in the morning. What a sh*te way to get out of payment
I think that's unacceptable behaviour by the MSC!!!! I 99% of the time download the docs as soon as I've accepted the job, unless- like with GAP- their system won't let me.
I did one for GFK this week and they did change part of the brief, but they had the decency to email me a day or two in advance, and advise me of this change.
I would fight it, as you have done nothing wrong. Unless it says somewhere in some T&Cs when you signed up, that you should only download the brief on the day of the visit (which I think is highly unlikely!!!) You have acted with due care and diligence and they should have advised you of any change to the advertised brief that you agreed to, when you accepted the assignment. You are quite right- who has the time to be mucking around with all that- I would always do it the night before, or I'd never leave the house with the amount of paperwork they make you print off.Minimalist

Hi everyone
I've been doing MF assignments for a while in central London and wondered which of the other companies is most similar in terms of assignments? Not after video work and happy with fees at the lower end of the scale if the location is convenient.0 -

Start with the list in the first few posts, GfK and TNS would be the first I'd go for,0 -

I'll be honest, I don't do anything more than skim read the brief until the night before, I've had my fingers burnt by changing briefs all too often, TNS's parcel jobs being the main one.0 -
Another delayed payment - this time from the usually reliable mystery eating people. An awful lot of staff in accounts payable seem to be making regular 'mistakes' that see stuff paid late. May try that excuse with the mortgage - oh.0

That is contrary to my good experiences. Clear and concise details for assignments, good rate of pay and always paid on time. Need good computer skills though for the reports.0 -
I'm waiting on REACT and Mystery Outsource to pay for January's work! Mystery Outsource have now sent 3 emails asking for the same payment information- it's obv just an excuse. I'm starting to think most MSCs are going down the pan. Certainly the high street is all across the South West- I've never seen so many empty shops. I think that rough waters are ahead.Minimalist

So as Gyp's big '3' becomes a big '1' is anyone else noticing that companies are disappearing from MSC's and not turning up elsewhere?Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

I've also received the same requests from Mystery Outsource and thought it strange as I submitted those details with my invoice in January. I was just relieved to get acknowledgement of pending payment as I was about to chase it up.0
