Hi Twinklie, congrats on getting married and glad the honeymoon was fab.

Good to hear your back on the OS wagon with meal planning etc. How do you make you pancetta and leek pasta dish? Would it work with bacon instead do you think? Im always on the lookout for new recipes.

Good luck with your race for life. I took up running over Christmas in an attempt to get fit having given up my gym membership to help the debt-busting mission. I really struggle to find the time to run though so I think it may have to wait hubby has some weekends off or the summer when there are more daylight hours.

I know what you mean, I was a gym member but finances just wouldn't cope so it went away! So I'm going to run like you...but might wait till the crazy weather has stopped!

Gotta keep it quiet from the family though because my father-in-law is an athletics coach and he'll make me start doing races or something....ha ha.

I think the pasta dish would probably work with bacon just as well! It's really easy, just brown off the pancetta (or bacon) in a pan with some olive oil. Then add the leek and fry on a fairly high heat for 6 - 8 mins. Mean while the pasta should be cooking.

Once everything is ready add 2 -3 tablespoons of creme fraiche and mix it all together. Season to taste and we grated some parmasan over...it was quick, simple and delish!

The dish origionally had mushrooms in, but I can't digest mushrooms so I just took those out!

I was so naughty today...cooked tea with our fresh veg etc, Chicken, aubergine and courgette ragu today. However, I was dead bad at uni. I bought a sandwich, some soup, 2 cups of tea, and a glass of coke.

Felt so bad that I've already made my sandwiches for tomorrow so I cant possibly forget! I'm starting a new placement school tomorrow and have to get the bus home....so that will be a few quid too....mores the pity!

Right, I'm back at uni for a final week then its reading week. I wanna get my hair done, and I have a dentist appointment so that should be my only major out goings....fingers crossed!

However, hubby has just taken a £20 per week pay cut in his dj money. Argh! Bit of a pain! Still, at least he's still got the job, some others were let go.

Applied for job number 2! Fingers crossed!!

I have been very industrious today. I have already been to the dentist, changed my name at almost every place in the world - spent a lot of time form filling and sitting around waiting to see people.

Then I did some household shopping etc....have set the ball rolling for setting myself a new savings account up. I've never had one. The lady at HSBC was trying to get me to open one with them....so I jumped on here when I got home to check with Martin the best accounts.....looks like ICICI Back so far.

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself now. Right time for more phone calls. Making hairdressers appointment and then docs I think. It's crazy how much you can fit into a week off.

Not quite such a good girl today. Been bit slow getting started with assignment.

However I did ring and book my x-ray appointment on my foot - which is why I went to doctors. So thats a job for Thursday...fun fun!

Going to try and spend as little as possible today. Although, we are buying a new car battery cos ours died and then we are going food shopping...but apart from that, it will be a spend free day!

Today I have spent NOTHING! Very impressed with myself!

And I'm up to approx 4000 words with my assignment and I've not been killing myself over it either....time to go and do some relaxing with the OH I reckon.

Mind you, we didn't go food shopping yesterday or buy the battery....looks like it's not happening today either....oophs!

Well it's the weekend. I've managed not to spend too much during my week off despite a trip to the cinema and for a meal.

I do have an urge to buy some clothes for school though...so I might do that. It's naughty of me I know but part of me feels like I need them. I kinda do to be fair I guess....this school is far posher than my last one. Hmmmm....

Yey, my cheque book arrived with my new name on, sooooo.....I can finally send off the cheque to open my saving account with ICICI Bank. Very exciting.

Still no jobs to apply for, which is a bit annoying. Wish they'd hurry up and start advertising.

Right, must ring and get my password changed for my ISA account so that I can check it's full. I think it should be by now. Then I can work on the savings account. lol.
