So from being a three bedroom, I reception, hall, kitchen and bathroom bungalow all smallish rooms and no garage. It is now a four bedroom, 3 reception, 3 bathroom, kitchen and utility room house with two double garages and a large garden. Can't work that one out lol
I've contacted them to see what they have to say.
Get a couple of local agents round. They offer to value your house for nothing.Je suis sabot...0 -

There are quite a few online only estate agents in the locality and to be honest I think most of them will go bump in the short term because of their margins.
I will probably putting a property up for a sale in the next few months and even though for cost purposes the online option would save me a fortune I am much much happier to go the traditional route in this case. As I will be asking them to do viewings on my behalf (I am time poor and often have erratic schedules).
I also don't feel the online agents will care too much about speedy conclusions of the sale (often a priority for myself) whereas the agent i have i mind if i do choose to sell this particular property get paid on completion so it is in their interest to be on the ball. (As they have been through the purchase i am seperately negotiating). Also because I am purchasing through them they have offered me a substantial discount on fees.
As confidence grows in the online model I think users will increase significantly and their margins will be fine.
I am reminded of the businesses that refused to go online 10-15 years ago. Well knows established brands - gone.
This business model and it's reputation may survive as there are some that like to go in to a traditional high street office etc, but it will not thrive in it's current form.
It's bitten the hands that feed it for far too long. It was cavalier in it's attitude as perhaps there were no options but them. Now there are...
Glad you have found good EA, but I'm going to guess it's not London - only because the EAs here know there will be another vendor/property on the market in a minute and off the go again!0 -
Flat has been on market for a week now with HouseNetwork and had no interest. Priced lower than other flats in same development for sale. It's hard to sell flats in my small city because houses are so cheap anyway.I instructed HouseNetwork last night and they rang to arrange when to visit our property. They are coming out next Friday. I found an affiliate code online to get another 5% off the cost. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Saving £1.5k using them.
We've found a house we love so are tempted to drop price but after only a week think it might look too desperate, so going to give it another week or two.0 -

Have you checked the stats from Rightmove/ Zoopla etc.. to compare how many people view your ad, and how many view other properties? (you can only see that on Zoopla)
Feel free to show the link to your ad here, I found people have really useful comments on here.0 -
We don't get the rightmove stats until after 2 weeks. On Zoopla the page views is at 200. I don't want to post the link yet until I get my rightmove stats through!car0line123 wrote: »Have you checked the stats from Rightmove/ Zoopla etc.. to compare how many people view your ad, and how many view other properties? fair enough

My online EA was normally sending Rightmove stats monthly, but were very friendly, and very quick to send me stats weekly when I emailed them about it.
You could always ask yours to do the same if you are interested.0 -

Our online portal says the stats appear after 2 weeks but I've raised a ticket to see if we can access anything now. Thanks
