Online only estate agents

You kind of get what you pay for really. An online agent won’t be able to give personal service but then again, many traditional agents can be a bit slack!0

When it comes to high street EA's, I think most of us are saying the exact opposite.
The personal service I have experienced has been exterior doors to garden not locked, shoe marks everywhere (In poor weather, I had requested for them to be removed), personal items damaged, lights left on in main rooms and attic....
I'm happy to lose that personal element of their service. I intend to do the viewings and they can ask me anything they want to know. Goodness knows we have no idea what the are being told by the EAs anyway!
There are obviously good agents around, but they are rare, and spread amongst the many EA companies so not worth the gamble to me really.0 -
I am currently purchasing through a local traditional agent who have been outstanding and have an excellent local prescence and reputation.
There are quite a few online only estate agents in the locality and to be honest I think most of them will go bump in the short term because of their margins.
I will probably putting a property up for a sale in the next few months and even though for cost purposes the online option would save me a fortune I am much much happier to go the traditional route in this case. As I will be asking them to do viewings on my behalf (I am time poor and often have erratic schedules).
I also don't feel the online agents will care too much about speedy conclusions of the sale (often a priority for myself) whereas the agent i have i mind if i do choose to sell this particular property get paid on completion so it is in their interest to be on the ball. (As they have been through the purchase i am seperately negotiating). Also because I am purchasing through them they have offered me a substantial discount on fees.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

The main reason to use online agents is that they can save you a lot of money.
Estate agents fees are huge and unnecessary when there are platforms out there that can provide the same service for less of the cost.
The average cost of selling is just under £3k but online fees are just £300-odd. It doesn't make sense to me to shell out money unneccesarily.
All it takes is a little effort on the your part, but it's well worth it if you can save thousands. If you can keep £3000 yourself, rather than sending it to your estate agent, that could go towards a new kitchen, or a car!

Really disappointed with the valuation from Tepilo, valued our house a £78,000 less than we paid for it in 2006. Since then we've put a large extension on and built in the roof. So from being a three bedroom, I reception, hall, kitchen and bathroom bungalow all smallish rooms and no garage. It is now a four bedroom, 3 reception, 3 bathroom, kitchen and utility room house with two double garages and a large garden. Can't work that one out lol
I've contacted them to see what they have to say.0 -
I instructed HouseNetwork last night and they rang to arrange when to visit our property. They are coming out next Friday. I found an affiliate code online to get another 5% off the cost. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Saving £1.5k using them.0

Yes mine was off by a fair bit too - that's what happens when there is no internal inspection. However they do state that you can put in on for whatever you think is achievable as they work for you,0 -
I HATE ESTATE AGENTS!
No one forces you to use them house sales and purchases can be acheived without them but you are paying for convenience amongst other things and there is always the option of haggling / shopping round.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
