I'm not even sure that Vodafone is even using 3G900.

Even if they are, it wouldn't be 'extensive', not even on O2 who do use it and probably what hengleng is getting confused with. 3G900 is mostly used to add capacity (so in areas with 3G2100 already in use, mainly urban).

    What phone are you using?

Its a Samsung Galaxy Mini S3 - Which, this morning is giving 2 or even 3 bars when held in a certain position by the head but when put down on to the table, loses all connection..... !!
This is Talk Talk by the way.... which uses Vodafone (at present)

The phone would be compatible (if it really was an issue). It just sounds like your average 3G Vodafone signal outside the main cities.

Have you tried to lock the phone to 2G to see how it compares? Vodafone 2G is probably the networks strongpoint.

Settings - More Networks - Mobile networks - Network mode - GSM

I think hengleng got carried away with all the talk about TalkTalk moving to O2 and though it had already happened.

TT's on-line map as well as Vodafones both show a good 3G signal outdoors and indoors and anyway we need 3G for internet and Email - so the SIM / network is no good !!!
