Post #22 on this link explains it all:-
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=96047&st=20&start=20What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
No indeed and complex reasons and history why not
I have on good authority that anyone who has paid recently to that company should ask for a refund via PayPal
Whilst that company is no longer taking orders - there is another ethically run company and former competitor which I cannot possibly mention but is visible on external sites such as Parking Cowboys and Parking Prankster0 -

Interesting that a contributor to that thread calls himself SodMSE.
He joined in July 2012 but has only ever made one posting, two and a half years later !0 -
As they jump ship like rats to the IPA which is run, owned and adjudicated by someone with a vested interest in fake parking tickets, the business model is finished.
IPA dont do appeals, they do sanctimonious preaching..I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I certainly would not spend a lot of time on this.
It has gone - people should seek refunds where necessary and that's the end. I understand they cost Parking Eye a lot of money. Let's hope any company doing something similar has an equal success against the Private Parking Companies.0 -
I've recently been on the receiving end of the Parking Ticket Appeals story. Paid for an appeal in November then heard nothing until I got a Debt Recovery letter for £160 on Saturday. Contacted Ricky Gater at PTA who replied straight away with some rubbish about matters being out of their control once the appeal is logged. So in other words their guarantee is worthless!
I emailed again to ask for proof of postage so I could take up the task myself and the email account has closed so I don't even know if the appeal was logged, I suspect not. A quick google on company directors shows that Mr Gater is now heading up a firm called Renishaw Management Services Ltd with the same registered address that PTA had. One to look out for there.
Big lesson learned here I suppose is to shop around and, unlike me, read all the blogs on this topic BEFORE shelling out. A bit more research over the weekend and a recommendation from a relative has led me to the services of Private Parking Appeals Ltd who have agreed to take up my case at this advanced stage.
I was unaware of the Paypal refund option but I'll get onto that now.0 -
Could you please edit the title of your post? I am glad to see you have found an ethical firm - which I can't add more comment about but you mentioned them, not me, so that's OK - but the title of your post puts the word 'sting' next to the 'good/current' firm's name who are now helping you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Bit confused here. On the recommendation of MSE I went to ParkingCowboys to seek advice on appealing to POPLA, and decided to use the company heavily advertised there, Private Parking Appeals Ltd.
I filled in the form on 26 Jan 2015 and received an email from them asking me to click a link to pay £10, which I did via PayPal.
I have heard nothing since, despite twice emailing them to ask what's going on. I've checked my spam folders and can't find any response.
Their website is still up (though now quoting £18 for appeals), and they're still all over ParkingCowboys site.
Any idea what's going on here? I understand that a similar company has recently ceased trading, but I didn't think it was this one.
My appeal time is down to 10 days so I need to know how to progress.0 -

Have faith! The new appeals company is run by forum regulars to the highest ethical standards, I have emailed 4consumerrights to ask her to respond urgently to your query. I suspect they are just super busy. They will also honour the pricing you were offered when you engaged them.
I am not associated with the appeals company, I just know some of the people who are.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
Oh damn, I gave up in the end and submitted my own appeal based on someone else's suggested template (mostly concerning GPEOL). I guess it's too late for them to help me now? If so I wonder if I can get a refund.0
