Porsche designed the engine-mount solution for the Favorit and 42 patents were registered in the development of the Favorit. The Favorit also won outright in the 94 World Rally Championship in the 2 litre category but was only a 1.3. The well used Skoda 1.3 engine is also arguably more reliable than any of VAG's offerings, and it is even used today in a modified form in the new 1.4 fabia. In fact the Favorit is the car that impressed VAG so much they bought Skoda in the early 90's.

Beating the reliability of VW engines isn't difficult now that they make them so cheaply, but the Skoda pushrod engine was dropped after the first few years of Fabia production, it was slow and could not pass future emission requirements. The WRC F2 engine wasn't a 1.3 but a 1.6

Bashing of Fiat is all well and good but there are far worse cars out there, one manufactuer still sells a car with a well known and potentially life threatening fault  The fault has happened to thousands of people yet its not a problem according to the manufacturer.

GM use Fiat engines in Saab, Opel/Vauxhall and Suzuki Swift. Ford are also using the Panda/500 platform for the next KA, seems that they trust them.

It may well sit fine on yours, it doesn't on mine, it stretches the size of the forum page.

It isn't too difficult to resize a photo down to a sensible size, nor is it helpful to the site owners who do not have an open ended amount of bandwidth.

" peach " ..Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks sennen, but I'm afraid Morph will just label your post as 70's propoganda and claim that your view counts for nothing as your Fiat wasn't Pearlescent White and as such has no validation.

Actually i'm glad of an ACTUAL FIAT OWNER coming on the board posting a helpful post rather then the bu**!!!! that you and Innactive love to post, it makes a nice change (some things never change, like the above post...)

Its good to see though that you've both finally realised that having never owned a recent Fiat, you aren't qualified to comment so instead you use your sarchasm (lowest form of wit) to have a dig at me... always got to be someone to have a dig at though hey, makes you feel more important... carry on, water off a ducks back!!

Oh PLEASE... you've now shown yourself for the child you really are when someone tries to help you and all you can do is correct their spelling.

Did my awful spelling really make it that difficult to understand what the post was saying?

And what is it they say about people in glass houses... "yeah" although since spelling and grammar are so important to you, i believe "YES" would be the correct term....

Cheers Sid... I though so being an avid Watchdog fan... :D

Didn't realise they still sold them though, though it was an old model now.... couldn't believe so many were doing that though and they still wouldn't admit it..
