If you have the 2015 version of Avast it now includes a network security scan. You will still probably certainly need to reset your router but might be interesting to see what it has to say if you have not done reset by the time you have read this.

Open Avast , go into Scan and there should be an option for 'Scan Network threats'. If there is not, go into 'Settings' then 'Tools' and there should be an option to switch Home Network Security on. Then go back to Scan. You might need to re-boot computer in-between.

Ok found that and its scanning.


Am a bit nervous to reset router in case I cant get it back on...by accessing the log in page, it will come up when I reset it? automatically.

It said my password is set to weak, , I clicked on link and netgear has popped up now should I continue with reset?i

there does seem to be a password or user name, just admin/password. theres a password for the wifi.

Mine has a login and password for the broadband but the password is asterisked out so if I have not got it on paper somewhere I would have to phone ISP if I hard reset router.

So I have router login/password, isp login/password and wi-fi key.

I've reset it and somehow manged to get it back on but am having trouble doing pass word I still have smartwizard open

I have reset but can't get the Internet on have a got netgear screen up on laptop what do I do now please? Am on smartphone now not WiFi.
