  • Hi, Did this ever get resolved? I've just had a similar Notice for my wife that stopped to put our crying babies dummy back in his mouth....

I'm just about to draft my appeal....

Nothing gets resolved at LJLA - we haven't seen one single case come to a resolution. VCS won't take a risk of putting this in front of a judge.

Use the initial appeal (for IPC operators) in post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, which will be rejected. After that you ignore anything further from their debt collectors. You may get correspondence from BW Legal (VCS's solicitors); if you do - they're nothing to worry about - come back for more advice, but please start a new thread of your own.

For two of the most comprehensive accounts of dealing with (and still dealing with VCS at LJLA), read hexaflexagon's threads over on PePiPoo.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • They stopped sending me debt recovery collectors letters some time ago now. They did use at least three different firms though!

As said above, get your appeal in, be prepared for it to be rejected and then just ignore the threatening guff that will inevitably follow. They will get bored soon enough and refocus their attention on easier prey.
  • Hi

New member and I too have received a letter from VCS asking for £60 I have appealed it and not surprisingly it was rejected. What course of action will follow now and what action should I take.

    Cheers

How many letters have you received from these bunch of scammers?
  • I think I received around 5 letters from three separate civil recovery firms. I ignored all of them and they seem to have given up - for now, at least. They have six years to pursue costs by all accounts so I have a while to go yet!

I haven't received a court summons, the general info is that this is very unlikely to happen. Apparently they (VCS) have already been to court once and lost.

Their business strategy is to use bullying tactics to collect money from easy targets, they seem to be giving up on 'tougher nuts' who know their rights (for now).

you will NEVER GET A COURT SUMMONS because this is a civil matter

if you get anything from a court , it will be an MCOL from Northampton , a civil court claim , not a criminal charge for a magistrate or a criminal judge to decide

If you don't bother to defend it and not bother to turn up, you will lose by default and if you don't then pay within 30 days of judgment you will get a CCJ which stays on your credit file for six years.

Wrecks your credit, stops you getting loans, moving house (rental or mortgage) and even stops things like a new phone contract in some cases. Look:

So...that's why we are here, helping people with appeals and defences and to win.

    ONCE????

VCS are in court every single day. Judges are often clueless but that's why we are here, helping with defences and advice about the evidence to file in advance of the hearing and what to take with you and say.

Where have you been? Search this forum for 'BW Legal court claim' and you will see just a small example of the claims VCS file al the time. Yes they win lots and some idiots/naive people even ignore them and lose by default...
