    6) Unclear signage.

I am familiar with the placement and content of the signage at LJL. I have also reminded myself by looking again. The terms could not be clearer in my view.

Hmm but how do you read it without stopping?

I would need some convincing that a "Solicitor" wrote that pile!

Sounds to me like N. Martin wrote it!

The assessor seems to have forgotten that Beavis is in no way a precedent and is under appeal.

That whole appeal response is worthy of a complaint to the SRA in my opinion.

Indeed. About both the anonymous legal "professional" who wrote it, and the known legal professionals who engaged him/her.

I have asked the IAS to name the solicitor who made the judgement. I'm not expecting them to comply, but does anyone know where I stand in this regard legally? Are they obliged to disclose this information?

I'm currently waiting to receive a nasty letter through the post threatening some form of action. Is there a time limit within they have to act in this regard?

If you get an unsatisfactory response you complain to the DVLA and ask them to investigate.

Ask why it is that POPLA is totally open in regard to who is making adjudications, yet the IAS is completely anonymous. Does the IAS have something to hide? How can a motorist have any faith or confidence in such diverse practices?

They need to know what goes on here.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

... from the date they began chasing the alleged debt. In this case, from the date of the PCN.

    A somewhat predictable response...
Thank you for your enquiry to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS).

The Independent Adjudicators used by the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) are practicing barristers or solicitors. All lawyers who consider appeals are expressly required under the terms of engagement to make the decision based on the evidence before them, without any influence from the parking operator, the IPC or the motorist. Adjudicator’s identities are protected so as to protect them from unwarranted adverse attention which may otherwise taint their decisions. Adjudicators are completely independent from the IPC.

The Independent Parking Committee Ltd (IPC) cannot interfere with the decision made by the Adjudicator, as this would compromise the independence of the service. As the decision is not binding on yourself, it is a matter for yourself if you wish to continue to contest the charge.

As the appeal has been completed and closed, we are unable to enter into further communication in relation to this matter.

    Yours sincerely

    The IPC
