The girlfriend and I found a house we really like, we put a bid in this morning at 9am, £8k less than asking price. It looks like a popular house so it could go quick and the price may go up and above asking. Hopefully not!!
Considering calling the estate agents again in the afternoon to find out if there's any news. Are they typically slow with this? I know they want as much of a commission as possible.
Dont want to lose this one!!

So why don't you call them back and ask if they have had a response to your offer? Ask them to let you know if anyone else puts in a counter-offer. But don't tell them how high you are prepared to go. I hope you get it if it is the right house for you.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Same boat here...
I put an offer in on Friday morning, had a call back around 4pm on Friday from EA - asked me if that was my best and final offer, said YES!
And not heard anything since...not sure if it's a good idea to call back for an update today or not hmm0 -
Kayfaz I think it is entirely reasonable to ring them. Was it your best and final offer though? Sounds as if the vendor is pushing the EA to get more out of you, but it may be good news that they haven't rejected it outright. Who knows? And you won't know unless you ask.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Thanks Rosie, just don't want to sound tooo keen (although I am, but shhh)
But I think I'll give them a call after work today, fingers crossed.0 -
Been there, done that so I know exactly how you are feeling. We unfortunately didn't have our offer accepted after being patient and waiting around on a response. OTOH, we kept our buyer waiting for a day and a half while we thought long and hard about whether to accept their offer, and did accept. So it could go either way. I would say that waiting between Friday and Monday before you ring doesn't show you as being too keen. Mind you, if they had accepted your offer, the EA would have rung you immediately I think. So it could be that they will say no, but the vendor wants another couple of grand, or maybe they are still thinking about it.
I hope you both get positive responses!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I'd wait until tomorrow at least. I think if it was a flat yes or no you'd have heard by now, so it may well be that they're thinking it over.0

Give it a day ... you are sounding far too keen!0

The vendor might be thinking it over or they might not even know about your offer yet - if you called the agent at 9am there's a good chance the vendor will have been at work all day and hasn't spoken to them yet.0

This+1. Ringing that soon makes you sound far too keen, personally I would have left it at least a week, time for the offer to be passed on, discussed by the vendor/s and then left for a good few days by which point you should have an answer.0
