Hello to all the participants of this thread both old and new and thanks to all who run the thread and to everyone who contributes to it.
First spends of the month today £44.57 - this included 3 Easter presents (we don't buy the traditional Easter eggs as Grand children not that keen on them really) also brought some fish, fruit & veg, nuts, cheese, and few other bits and bobs. Hope to get to B&M as well maybe Tuesday/Wednesday as will need a few bits and pieces from there soon.
Tonight I have a UFO out of the freezer - which I hope is a beef stew but it could be anything as label fell off. It does however contain carrots so at least I know its savoury and not sweet. :rotfl:MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Last month went pretty well, I'm going to go with £60 for April. Helped hopefully by the fact that I'm spending sometime at head office so all meals whilst there will be going on the company card so will save me a bit.
Having got the freezer nice and empty over the last two months and defrosting it yesterday, I'm thinking rather than filling it up with ingredients so to speak I'm going to aim more for batch cooking when I feel up to it, so when I'm not the cheat meals will still be home made rather than coming from the supermarket or take away.
I'm starting off with £20 that I took out in cash today £3.15 has been spent at the bakers and the rest has gone in my purse for yellow stickered bargains for the late night Mr T dashes. Hoping for some good ones tonight as they have to close for a whole day! If not it will still be there when I find some.0 -
Hiya everyone and a warm welcome to the returners and new peoples :hello:I have no idea how to update the bit at the bottom but will find out and update later.
Fell down some outside steps yesterday and have done some damage to my right foot. My kind neighbour helped me back in the house and checked on me later to make sure I was okay - think he deserves a star bless him. Anyhows, my foot has swollen up like a balloon and gone lovely shades of purple through to black and I'm houseboundSo definitely no dancing for a few days or so though I don't think anything broken.
DH had to go shopping so a bit over budget but he does his best :kisses3:
Hope you all having a great Easter weekend :easter_ba:

Anyone had any dealings with muscle foods? They have an offer on Groupon, but don't know what their prices are like compared to butchers and what the quality is like. X
Amazing quality! No water added into chicken breasts, and their braising beef is lush! I've only bought chicken, mince and beef from them, but very happy. I had a deal on 10kg of chicken breasts for £40, and there were 46 in there! One breast does me and my two quite comfortably for a dinner, and I 'roasted' two of them and fed two adults and two children with leftovers.

That £100 budget you've decided to set yourself will stretch miles if you carry on picking the bargains up like that.
DH was in a similar position to you workwise last year and clever YS bargains got us through very nicely. Now he's working again we still keep it up and live very well on a much lower wage.
Hope it all works out for you.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
