I'm in for April with a budget of £240 .
We're away for 6 days but the food for the caravan will come out of this budget, any meals out etc come from another budget.
My freezer is running low apart from Mince and frozen veg. Need to do an inventory and use up the random bits.Grocery Challenge 2024

Hi everyone old and new  Hope everyone is well.
So pleased I managed to come in under budget last month be £15
First spends of this month were £45 in Ald* and £26.31 in Tesc* so a total 1st week spend of £71.31. This should do for a week apart from milk and bread so I am on target for this weekDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Haven't been to the shops yet this month so I'm doing well! Just checking in. Probably go to the shops tonight when its quiet so I don't have to go tomorrow. I will only need basics. Milk, bread, fruit juice and veg. Think I will try and stay under £20 mark.

After 5 days with the parentals, they gave me £30 "for petrol" as I left! Extremely kind of them, but I don't really need it, as I budget for my petrol on a weekly basis, year-round, and don't need to top up the car for next week, as I'm off work again next week as well.
I'm thinking of using the £30 in the supermarket tomorrow to re-stock the store cupboard, which is looking a bit bare after a month of eating out of it!Because it's fun to have money!

Can I join in with this? I have worked out since January we have averaged £200 pcm for food. This is only for me and a teenager, no idea if it can be improved on or not really. It also includes all toiletries, cleaning stuff, washing powder etc. So consumables really. I'm going to keep a running total in my signature, hopefully that will shame me into spending (and eating) less.2025 April £257/£300

Up late this morning, so opted for an early lunch rather than late breakfast. Had a (from long-term stock) cup-a-soup with a sandwich and bag of crisps (all items bought last month). Mid afternoon I had some (long-term stock) dried fruit. DS1's taken a portion of chilli (which I made and accounted for last month) with some (long-term stock) rice to work. I've had a couple of sausages with 'fresh' (I'd frozen it) ravioli (both long-term stock items) with the last of a sauce I'd opened (and accounted for) last weekend.
I also bobbed down the shops for a few bits - a loaf of bread for butties (the ones in the freezer are all for toast or DS1's soup meals), milk (for DS1) and garlic bread (normally get 1 fresh, but got a twin pack of frozen as they work out cheaper per baguette and I had enough freezer space).
Spreadsheet currently shows as I've 'spent' £4.90 (out of £24.49 allowed for 3 days)
Got the new Costc0 book, and the good news is that there's noting at all in it that interests me. Need to check the freezer though, as I think I may be running short on mince - hopefully not short enough I have to make a trip down to get some just yet though! Next book again doesn't start until 27th, so even if there's something in that one I want I should be able to delay a trip until May's budget kicks inCheryl0 -
NSD #1 for me today. I have decided to shop weekly and just top up with bread and milk and fresh fruit/veg if needed. I am trying to stay out of the SM as much as possible so bought frozen veg and some frozen fruit to use when possible. Hopefully all will go wellDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

That's good, to get a daily rate. I've just worked out mine for two of us at £200 pcm and it's £6.57 a day. :eek:2025 April £257/£300
