    First spends of April:

    £74.52 Mr T delivery
£2.97 Snacks when travelling with work
£4.00 Mr W - GF stuffing and the mini eggs Mr T substituted for smarties. Cant make chocolate cornflake nests with smarties and they are not GF either!:rotfl:
£10 Chippy tea DH came home with tonight! There is an award winning chip shop next to barbers so he brought some in. I was planning these for lunch tomorrow so no harm done I suppose but they would have come out of a different budget tomorrow.

I am aiming for £70/week and have spent £90.39 so far this week but have bought a few extras for visitors and the holiday weekend so will try and pull it back over the next week or two. I may need to buy some more beer for DH and icing sugar for a cake as I forgot to order some.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Went to morrisons today as I had a voucher for £6 off £40. Slightly annoyed as I spent £45 instead of £40. My maths is usually spot on so really cross with myself. Even checked the receipt but it was right!

Got a couple of good buys-

4 packs of beer for £20 instead of £32.
30 walkers crisp boxes for £3 (I got two)
Persil washing powder £4 instead of £7.

Got a few other bits and pieces but they were the main ones I went in for! Will update signature later when I find my receipt! Spent a lot already this month so need to slow it down a bit!

2 days in, and hanging on to my budget as best I can ;)

Yesterday I didn't bother with breakfast. Lunch was sandwiches made with bread and cold meat bought last month, alongside a 'from stock' cup-a-soup and served with a 'bought last month' pack of crips. Evening meal for me was a fish pie bought last month, and DS1 took a ready meal I bought last month to work.

Brekky this morning was a plain microwave porridge from stock, made more interesting by the addition of a cereal topper also from stock. Lunch was a repeat of yesterday (except the crisps were bough in Feb). DS1 took another ready meal bought last month to work, and I had a portion of casserole from the freezer that I made in Feb with extra gravy made from granules from stock. Mid morning snack was some dried fruit from stock.

Spreadsheet currently shows a spend of under £1 on long standing stock items and zero on shop spends.

    Hiya everyone :easter_ba:

Can I join please? I've been reading through all your posts, I'd love to give it a go?

Put us down for £220 please.

I've tried and failed in March to set £250 myself so hoping the incentive of joining the challenge will keep me on track!
Welcome on board and hope you enjoy the banter. You will find us a friendly lot and if you need any help just ask. You might find it helps to put your target on your signature and then update whenever you spend ;)

    We had another NSD today

Hope you all have a frugal Friday

  • Had my first spend today, £21.24, bit more than I intended, but got enough meat to do more than a month, n freezer is bulging, so all's good. No more spends until Wednesday (hopefully).

    Evening all!
Two out of two nsds for me so far this month. I used to be an addict to sm shopping, and now I have got it down to once a week during term time. Trouble is, when it's the school holidays, the old habits try to creep back... I don't need anything at all, but it will be hard for me not to shop this weekend. I'll have to do lots of knitting and crocheting to keep myself occupied! (And spring cleaning)

I'm planning to shop on Tuesday for a few fresh bits ready for the children's return that day, and then back to Sunday. We have two or three picnics to go to next week, so that needs to be thought about.

Anyway, pleased with my £0.00/£100.00 so far!

I can forsee my budget being bust already, the rate at which my children are eating! Plus, i am feeding 2 extra adults and 2 extra children for the day today, as i have invited some friends over with their children.

Also, i have decided to home school my oldest son (15) so i can imagine that i will have to put my foot down and make a rule about him not eating all day long.

    Seventh Anniversary
Happy bank holiday weekend peeps! :)

I have all easter-related chocolate goods taken care of (for me and OH) for a total of £5.80. I bought a SB bag of milk chocolate eggs (£3), the 80p boxed one with caramels (as recommended on here :money:) and 2 bags of mini eggs (£2). On top of that I received a chocolate egg at work.

Now we have to find the willpower to leave all that in the cupboard until Sunday! I'm going to distract myself by trying to write a meal plan for the rest of April, inspired by you guys here who are so organised! :T
