Well it'll be a small miracle if I hit target this month! Signed up to slimming world this week and have found my food spends have gone through the roof as a consequence. Spent a fortune on fruit and meat this week :(

Shopped at Aldi's today, came in at £72.80  £10 were on flowers for mothers day and £7.47 was on a few bits and pieces for my parents who get back from holiday later today so thought I'd restock their fridge a little so only counting £55.33 of this. It still means that my total spends are now £150.10, only have 1 more weekly shop to do this month and just under £30 left for it. I should have meat left over for next week hopefully, just can't see me being able to stick to £30 though if this week's anything to go by.

Really annoyed that a pack of chicken breasts I bought from Aldi last weekend and froze on the same days were rancid when defrosted and had to be binned, had this problem a few times last year but they'd been ok recently. Bought more this week so hope they're ok this time.

I know hwat you mean about slimming world. the problem is carbs are cheap and protein and fruit and veg arnt :-(
  • Today is another NSD as im on a Fiscal Fast for the week - to be honest its killing me - but a bit of a lifesaver, as I think I will be able to come in on budget this month - will actually be a first if I do. Im going out later, but definately leaving purse at home.
  • Hi - I'm having a good go at a healthy eating plan this week. I've planned my meals and snacks around fresh fruit and vegetables, oily fish, eggs and chicken.

Without the cakes and biscuits and ready meals my shopping came to £27.98.

Off to add it to my signature.

I also do SW and protein doesn't have to be expensive - it doesn't have to be meat and/or fish! There are plenty of other sources of protein - eggs, beans and pulses etc.

Vegetarian and vegan people have to find their protein from sources other than meat and fish, might be worth you having a look at vegetarian and/or vegan recipes for some ideas.

Things like spicy beanburgers are good. I also make a mixed bean goulash (a girl called jack website).
