A small spend of £3.38 today. Just needed to buy some eggs and popped into Ald! to check on the Super 6 and ended up buying 2 packs of Asparagus. Might have boiled eggs with asparagus for breakfast tomorrow! Signature updated.

Spent £16.47 today in Morry's which incidentally was heaving - expect everyone was getting flowers etc for Mother's day tomorrow. Total is now £42.71 spent which is great as its only a 25% of the budget and yet we are nearly 50% through the month. Have had 10 NSD so far. :)
Roast pork for us tomorrow with carrots, sprouts and beans along with roast and mash potatoes with gravy and onion sauce. Looking forwards to it already.
Had to throw away a few mushrooms this morning as they were past using even in soup. Have also notices a very small space appearing in one of the freezer drawers - only about the size of a bag of peas but a space is a SPACE.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO EVERYONE :grouphug:

  • Well it'll be a small miracle if I hit target this month! Signed up to slimming world this week and have found my food spends have gone through the roof as a consequence. Spent a fortune on fruit and meat this week :(

Shopped at Aldi's today, came in at £72.80  £10 were on flowers for mothers day and £7.47 was on a few bits and pieces for my parents who get back from holiday later today so thought I'd restock their fridge a little so only counting £55.33 of this. It still means that my total spends are now £150.10, only have 1 more weekly shop to do this month and just under £30 left for it. I should have meat left over for next week hopefully, just can't see me being able to stick to £30 though if this week's anything to go by.

Really annoyed that a pack of chicken breasts I bought from Aldi last weekend and froze on the same days were rancid when defrosted and had to be binned, had this problem a few times last year but they'd been ok recently. Bought more this week so hope they're ok this time.

  • Picked up a £2.50 bag of 4 cook-from-frozen chicken breasts. Never tried them before, but so much cheaper than the fresh ones at £6 for 6.

Have you tried the Tesk frozen value ones, they are £3.99 per kg and I think they are really nice.

Well, no spends here. I'm on a Fiscal Fast for 7 days, finding it hard mentally, but needs to be done as I buy so much stuff I don't need.
  • Well another spend here of £41.13 in aldi I am going to try and make this my last spend other then milk for this month the 24th. I had this for lunch in the week it was so yummy. http://agirlcalledjack.com/2015/03/02/marmite-mac-n-cheese-in-a-mug-36p-microwave/

    Good evening everyone,

Wow, can't believe Soworried you were so lucky with the YS bits, I never seem to be that lucky, although today I went to asd@ and got a 6 pack of muller corners for 64p so well pleased.

I am updating my spends, don't really have any money to spend though as DH hasn't been paid yet:(

However, we went to M&S and got the meal deal for tomorrow at £20, feel the offer is not as good as in previous years, but still not too bad, could probably have done better myself, but its my birthday & mother's day so need an easy dinner:D Went to asd@ as well and picked up a few bits to see us through so spent £20.59.

I do have a fair bit in my cupboards and freezer, so can last out for a while this week if I am careful and creative.

I have updated my signature to reflect my spending.

    Morning Everyone.

I hope people are having a nice Sunday so far. :D

I realised I forgot to add my Sainsbugs spends the other day after I received the delivery. Total of £46.50. Some of that was to make a cake for my FIL, but as the selfish man has decided to bobby off to Paris for the weekend, I haven't been able to make it for him :p

So, my total for the month stands at £168.93 and I only have this week to go as I get paid at the end of the week. I might do a tiny stock up of bits and bobs this week...but my freezer seems remarkably full still
How long til pay day?

    Men are so frustrating

First month of meal planning and at the beginning of the month I spent ages doing an inventory of our kitchen and writing it all down

Hubby comes in yesterday having gone to tesco unprompted as I shop at lidl on a Sunday and announces he is making me a cake and pancakes for breakfast as it is Mother's Day.

Firstly I am very pleased I have such a thoughtful husband and it was a lovely gesture...

However he didn't check the book or the cupboard first. I have 3 packs of flour, why buy more. He also bought baking powder, caster sugar, butter and icing sugar - had enough of all of those

Spent £10 on ingredients for his lovely grand gesture of which we only needed eggs

Deducted from my spends and have £30 to get to the end of the month for 3 people and two cats so £120 spent so far

Not sure I am going to make it

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I discovered a local greengrocers shop yesterday, and came away with some bargains.

All this was only £17: 6 packets of biscuits, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, 6 huge oranges, 12 tomatoes, 6 peppers, 8 kiwi, 2 gem lettuce , 1 Savoy cabbage, small bag of pearl potatoes, 1 aubergine, 1 leek, 2 lemons, 1kg carrots and 4kg onions!!

IS that a good price do you think? I was happy with that, the size of everything is so much bigger than in the SMs.
