  • I have done my first weeks grocery shop and was chuffed to do it for £42.60 in stead of the usual £120+... I used cash (drew out just £50)... used a small trolley, took the kids with me (as they whinge and I leave the shop quicker with less browsing!), I did not have a list but I knew it was fresh fruit and veg (which I chose based on offers and essential range), milk, bread (freshly baked is reduced after 6pm daily) and cereals (I only bought essentials range)... in all quite a success... I will be writing meal plans tomorrow and emptying the freezer / stock cupboards over the month...

    I am feeling chuffed... :)

    Eighth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Evening everyone.

Well I had a small spend in Ald* today of £3.13. I bought milk @89p, bottle of squash @ 95p (have stopped buying juice lately) and a bag of the funsize apples 10 for £1.29.

I just wanted to say that last week I bought the 1.3kg gammon joint in Ald*. Boiled it on Sunday for our roast, then had it yesterday with jacket potatoes, and stretched it to today with a pasta bake. Am very pleased with it as it was absolutely gorgeous on Sunday, cooked to perfection:rotfl:

I now have an extra meal on my meal plan for next week now.:)

Whoops, quite a spendy week so far! Already spent £60 (the whole week's budget) on food, but hopefully won't need to buy anything more until Sunday.

Menu plan going to plan and I've made next week's plan and done the shopping list from it, then altered plan accordingly. Lots of plans there!

Food so far is expected to come in on budget of £39.50 for this week but we're away next weekend so I will plan to get a few extra small items and use a bit of the following week's budget for those.

No spends needed until the weekend.

Neighbour asked if we could give her a lift today so we did end up going shopping after all and spent £15.64. This was on milk, cheese, nuts, grapes, apples, oranges, tomatoes and eggs. Will need some veg and bread on Saturday but that should be it.

A spend of £40.28 over the last two days - included a book of 12 first class stamps, which pushed the total up. Otherwise tissues, deodorant (special offer) Laundry liquid (special offer) and food for fridge.
Unless I see some really cheap dishwasher tablets, I don't think I need any other major items this month, but I think with a £150 limit I can buy any real bargains as I see them.

I'm avoiding the snack aisles so I won't be tempted in that way.

    Hiya everyone :hello:

    Another NSD here today :)

It's our wedding anniversary today but we are not going out as I'm working. We will probably go out for a drink at the weekend and then we are away on holiday anyway.

Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday
