Back from my big monthly shop and spent a total of £74.74 but that included big box of dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, loo rolls & kitchen rolls. Shouldn't need to buy any of those until next month.
Also have all the meat & fish needed for this month's meals plus more in the freezer.
Cupboards are nice and full as well.
Hoping not to have to spend much each week buying milk, fruit, veg & yoghurts (plus anything else I've forgotten!) Haven't bought crisps for DH so will also need to buy some of those each week (daren't buy them for the month 'cos he'd probably eat them in a week!)

Well I was hoping I didn't need to spend anything else this week but the decaf tea bags I bought from Aldi weren't pleasant at all so had to buy some branded ones which were an additional £2.58. Meal plan for the rest of the week
Creamy gammon pasta
Coq au Vin ( will be enough for 2 meals )
Chicken and chorizo jambalaya ( again will be enough for 2 meals )
Will have chicken breast leftover for next week, I have enough pulled pork leftover from what I made Sunday for another meal and have various mystery tubs that I need to go through and work out whats in them so hopefully I'll not need to spend as much next week as I have this weekNew House... Yesterday I spent £10.40; for this I managed to get:
Laundry detergent, 2x8 bread rolls, baby carrots (big frozen bag), 2 x hair gel for bf, 1 x new food beaker (for my breakfast oats), pack of big on the vine tomatoes, 2 pints whole milk (wonder bairns)
Have now updated my sig with those spends
It's looking likely (from the freezer stash I now have!) that we should only need: smoked ham, mushrooms, cucumber, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, milks, sweet potatoes, bananas and apples plus possibly frozen fruits and wheat biscuits to see the month out. My plan now is to avoid the shops apart from necessities (should only be milk) until Saturday at the earliest...will see if I am able to do it!************************************

Ok well I went abit hard on the good old shopping budget, all for the better hopefully.
Online Tea buying = £20.81 (Cannot get my Blend of Both for love or money here in the IOM!)
Weekly shop = £39.53 (worked out we had a £20.22 overspend so will be looking at getting that lower!)
Pets at Home shop = £42.99 (as we are sadly now down to one doggie, I don't know how long this will last, possibly 2/3 months! We also bought the little one a new dog harness)
Healthfood shop = £21.10
Shoprite = £6.60 (went to see a friend and managed to spend way to long there so the dinner I was going to cook went out of the window and egg/chips came into the plan)
Total spend = £131.03
Money lft for the month = £113.47
GAH expensive weekend!!!Nessy x

Right, my first week of the new month and a different approach needed, so - I have bought a freezer full of meat which I think should last the month, ordered online and arriving Thursday from a company called Paleo Wales, looks good quality and decent prices for grass fed beef and lamb, plus chicken breasts with no added water, ditto mince, plus some bones for broth and some duck breasts and beef ribs, total paid £123. Today I spent £62 in Sburys on the rest of the week's groceries and on Friday I will add my organic veg box spend of £27 to this total. So a big spend this week but this will be a lot lower next week, partly because I have now stocked up with washing powder and fabric softener which will last at least a couple of months if not more, and also have plenty of pretty much everything else needed for next week other than some berries and some more parmesan, that will be bought in L*dl next week, along with any other bits and pieces to supplement the veg box.
I am now weekly checking the veg box contents online for the week and changing to suit what we have and what we need, rather than having the same box every week regardless. The aim is to avoid using the big supermarkets as much as possible, whenever possible using L*dl and A*di, and using small suppliers more this year, whilst also cutting my weekly shopping costs, a tall order but I am convinced it can be done.
The £300 per month saving will go to overpayment of the mortgage.
Oh, and not forgetting losing weight at the same time, so far this year I have lost 11lbs and still going strong. Combining the Primal Blueprint with a couple of fast days each week seems to work for me really well.
Plenty of challenges lie ahead, but bring them on!Making time for me now. Out with old habits and ideas, and open to change......:j0 -
First spend of the month £29.86, managed to get all the fresh vegs and fruit that we need to last a week, milk, butter, bread, pate, biscuits, cream and some YS doughnuts - custard ones - they are my favourite.0

The plan for this weekend had been to stick to meal plan and just buy what I needed. However, on realising that there were a few of Aldi's gardening special buys I wanted to take advantage of I take advantage of the £5 Mirror voucher and do a bit of a stocking up.
However much I start out with good intentions I still manage to get sucked into offers etc. Something I definitely need to try harder at. Signature updated and sticking to target is now going to be challenging.GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50
Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £700
