  • Good Morning Chaps :D

Well, I've decided to keep my budget the same at £350 purely because I've had to buy a few "big ticket" items this month and we have a week off together.

I had my first spend of the month on Monday at £75.06 - this included some of those bigger items but most of them were on offer. Mahoosive pack of loo rolls, dry cat food, clingfilm (why is this so dear?!) and wine for a dinner party we were attending.

I really need to reign in my personal spending at work though. I just nip upstairs to the canteen and get a quick pot of Angel delight (if my baby doesn't come out butterscotch/banana/strawberry flavour I will be surprised) and whatever else I fancy. Its never much, but over the week its adding up. Therefore, for Thursday and Friday this week I am going to try NOT to buy anything at work and will report back next week (I'm working from home today so shouldn't need to buy anything).
Can you look online for somewhere selling catering packs. I got one ages ago from ApprovedFoods for pennies. I'm sure Amazon and eBay do them.
On the Angel Delight front. Could you ready prepare some to take into work in a container, if they have a fridge to store it in?

I'd like to join for £200 again please :)

It's a bit of a guess because we are on holiday for 4 days, but then the month is longer than February so I'll stick to £200 and hopefully come in less.

I really can't wait for the Lidl to open up near me, things are going to change dramatically then :D
  • Hi I'm in again this month. Could you put me down for £240 for 1st-31st. Have still got loads of meat in the freezer, really need to defrost the little one so want to use up as much as possible this month!

Can I sign up again please? I am aiming for £260 for 1 - 31 March.

I need to do a decent shop tomorrow, so will use the Aldi £5 off voucher from Thursday's Daily Mirror, to try to keep the costs down.
  • Hello everyone.

Well I have a meal plan for the week and we went to Ald* this morning, and have done my weekly shop. Used the £5 off voucher, plus a few of the other vouchers. My total spend today was £42.97. I hope that apart from milk I won't have to buy anything else this week - fingers crossed:rotfl:

    Good luck everyone.

  • HI please may I join? I need to reduce groceries and food for my family of two adults, two kids and a doggie. Last month was over £800 in the end, not including the nearly 300 euros on holiday meals  ... BIG problems... I need to reduce to about £300 per month ideally. We only eat cheaply which is why i cannot see where the money goes! The amount we spend is based on the supermarket receipts in toto... should I be including fuel, clothes, dvds, toiletries, dog food, cleaning products etc? we buy everything in one shop once per week due to living rurally...

    hmmmm.

    Thanks. x

It's really up to you what you want to include in your budget.

We are two adults and include all household stuff - so all food, laundry products, cleaning stuff, loo rolls etc and toiletries.

We do not include fuel as it's part of car yearly budget.

We do not include clothes, dvds, alcohol, meals or drinks out - all these come out of small personal budgets.

Holidays have their own budget although £110 this month will go towards food from usual monthly GC budget - leaving £90 for the days we are at home.

We don't have an animal budget as we don't have any :)

HTH and is understandable - any queries please ask :D
