My first shop of the month done today. Aldi I spent £24.08 and BM's £5.48. Coming in at a total of £29.56. A couple of treats but mostly good stuff for meals. Managed to get a chicken, good beef mince, cod fillets and a chorizo in with plenty of fruit and veg, some sc staples and a few random things from BM's.
Meal planner:
Sunday: Roast chicken, stuffing, mash and 2 veg
Monday: Chicken and veggie curry and rice/naan ( leftover chicken)
Tuesday: out at the theatre straight from work ( won tickets so freebie) so will probably eat something light and cheap out like shared nachos
weds: Cod in a hm mustard sauce with stuffed peppers.
Thurs: Spaghetti Bolegnese
Friday: Falafel in pitta with spicy roast veg quinoa
saterday: Caldo verde
sunday: Chilli con carne and baked potatoes ( made with L/o bol sauce)
These might change around days but are our basic mealplan.
We have eggs, tinned fish, cans of soup and toast and will make a huge portion of spicy lentil soup in SC for lunches together with fruit and yoghurts.
Breakfast will be mainly toast.
I think I am all prepared apart from more catfood in the week.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Another £30 spent in Mr S today on beer, meals for DH and DS and a load of carp as DH and I are feeling a bit under the weather today.
There should be no reason that we need to buy anything else before the weekend.
I listed the contents of one of my freezers today and some 2 year old stuff went in the bin:eek: Neither this freezer or the one in the garage have drawers on the front so nothing stays in properly and I am not convinced keeps properly either. This afternoon we have been and bought a new fridge freezer with a bit bigger capacity and they will be taking the 2 old ones away.
Tomorrow I will need to sort out all the jars and what not in the top of the kitchen freezer. Gawd knows what's on that top shelf!Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

catherineMM I think WantToBeSE has pretty much covered things
The only thing I would add is nutritional yeast. It has protein and is high in the B vitamins and zinc which are hard to come by on a vegan diet. You can buy it on Amaz*n and 1 tub lasts quite a while. I put a tsp in my smoothie in the morning and sprinkle it on soup or whatever I am having for tea. HTH
£28.88 spend for me today mostly on fruit and veg so should be ok for a few days.Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

I hope we can all be vegan in the house as animal products make me sad. However...we have tried before and find it far too expensive to be ethical. Most cheaper affordable foods are meat based or contain derivatives in one way or another.
I will be trying to shop better and use lists. My fridge and freezer is pretty full at the moment so this month I will mostly be trying to empty it... A big double American fridge freezer holds a multitude of shopping sins!Make £/day March: £1490.85 / £310

Hi
Signing up again for this. Sticking to my £10 a day so this months total £310
January I came in under budget at just over £10 and Feb by £50 so I can reduce this however anything I save goes towards paying off credit cards so if I budget for £310 then hopefully will be able to pay a good bit extra towards cards but if I need to buy things have got money available to do it.
Had a no spend day today eating out of freezer :T and making some space

Evening! Can I join you all please? Tracked my spending in February and managed to reduce my spends from anywhere between £220 - £300 to just over £180 but used a lot of my stocks up in the process. Going to aim for £180 this month again and see how we get on. This month is a 4 week month for us and aiming to spend £40 a week with £20 for any emergency items I've forgot.
Done my first shop of the month today, £36.38 in Aldi and £3.39 in Tescos on the things I couldn't get in Aldi so total so far £39.77. I've meal planned for the week so shouldn't need to spend anything else this week.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000
