Really appreciate if I could join please.
I think I will go for £350 for 1 adult and 2 very tall hungry teenage fellas!! This needs to cover groceries, meals out, toiletries etc.
I have ordered a big monthly shop for just under £90 for tomorrow including all my meat (2 chickens, 1 gammon joint, 3 packets of lean minced beef and 1 lean minced pork - I hope that is enough meat), all tins, loo rolls, UHT milk and most dried foods. Will need to get fish, eggs, fresh fruit and veggies etc. weekly.
Got a 10 kilo bag of basmati rice for £11 which will last months - I'm hoping that is a good price?? Anyone know if that is
:money:
Good luck all on your challenges - I'm going to withdraw all the money for the month and put it in weekly amounts - hopefully will stop me overspending if I can see it dwindle away!!:)Blitz that mortgage

Just catching up on here.
We run 1-31st and will be going for £320 for the month please.
Good luck all! :j0 -
Good evening everyone.
I think last month's challenge did not quite go to plan, and I am sure I have spent more than recorded, so will keep a much closer check this month.
Its payday today :j so my March challenge will start today, and will shop tomorrow. I need to do a meal plan and make a shopping list to stick to.
I am going to go for 4 weeks as will be paid again on 27/3. so I am going to try for £60 a week again, so my March budget will be £240.
Good luck everyone and thank you for the help and support.SPC 11 #4450 -
Well my shopping got delivered as planned. I debated getting the big shop so I could use my £13 off a £90 spend. Very pleased I did now. A few things weren't in stock and there were no suitable alternatives. Around £12. If i did this in the shop I wouldn't be able to use the voucher, but because its online they have still honoured the £13 off! :T Feel like I've cheated the system a bit!
Total spend was brought down £65.50 because of this! Also some of the things that were substituted went from value products to branded products so I feel like i've done really well out of this shop!
Also popped in Mr T's on way to work. Picked up 2 packs of Mr T's Finest Lasagne Sheets. Should have been £3.60.... cost me ZERO!!! :T Had a voucher from their panel to try them out for free. Never spent another penny.
Best go and update my total before I forget.
Have a good month everyone, and a big welcome to all the newbies!

First shop of the month done, with full meal plan, and I'm very pleased - came in just over $100 and included a few extras that were on special or that we'll take a while to get through.
We had a family bereavement this week so will probably be away at least overnight for the funeral sometime this next week. I'm planning to make up a few meals in advance to stock up the freezer (and so it doesn't all go off!) Plus the extra cooking might be a handy distractionMarch 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

First shop done last night. £39.59 spent after £5 worth of price match till spits. Sausages, cheese, bread, bananas, beer, wine, lots of DH fave tinned chilli on offer (that's his lunches sorted) and a huge box of soap powder and fabric conditioner on offer too. Oh and a pork joint for Sunday.
We have quite a bit of fresh to use up so will have enough for meals until I am away Tuesday night.
Rough meal plan:
Sat - Meal out (fun budget)
Sun - Roast pork and all the trimmings
Mon - Sausage and leek casserole
Wed - Beans on toast
Thurs - Chicken and Chorizo paella
I am planning to use up a lot from my freezer and cupboards this month but have added to the store cupboard rather than reduce it this week.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Hello all,
I'm back in this month, kept on breaking my budget. So I'm determined to reign everything back in.
Part of the plan is posting on here to keep track.
So the budget is £250 for three adults two teens and six cats.
Good luck all
Good luck with your budget. I had to start counting cat food seperate as I could never keep to budget, and I bulk order every three weeks from Zooplus. So, I'll be eager to see if you can do it. Good luck.
I will come back with budget when not on phone as hard to do in both red and large font.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £75.94/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
