    Hi Lynne,
Thankyou very much for the tip for the parmesan, that works out about half price :money:
I have a tip to give back, I always freeze grated parmesan (saves it going green in the fridge) funny though, it doesn't actually freeze, I just take it straight out from freezer, use what want and put straight back. So with your tip I will buy a block, grate it and freeze it.:T

    Hi can I join please?
You're welcome. Just jump on in and tell us a bit about yourself and what you want to set for your budget and what it will cover. You might like to put it on your signature and then keep a running total through the month as lots of people find it helps. (You can get to your signature from UserCP on the green bar and scroll down the right-hand list to signature - don't forget to hit save every time you use it). Feel free to ask if there's anything you don't understand and good luck.

Shopping today was total of £48.62 (including using a till spit of £5 off £25 at MnS ;) ). It also included some fresh fish because DH fancied it.

Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

  • Hi All

We have a separate bank account just for groceries which is a good eye opener and I recon we average around £360 on goceries for 3 of us in a month.

I'd like to be ambitious and go for £200 this month - I didn't see this thread until today. This week's shopping is done and was £73.02, so that leaves me with £127 for the remainder of February.

I did pick up a good deal this week on beef shin at Morrisons 1.5kg for £10. I froze 1kg and used 500g in a slow cooker casserole and bulked out with dumplings - we only ate half so the rest is for tomorrow night.

Good luck with your challenges everyone!

    Hi all

Please can I be put down for £140 for February. This is for 31 January to 27 February for 2 adults and includes all cleaning stuff and toiletries but not 'eating out'. I've decided to have a separate budget for that of £50, to include takeaways, sneaky coffees and cakes and meals out. I'm expecting one very expensive meal out in February and I need to keep other eating-out costs under control.

Can you put me down for £480 please. That's for 2 adults, 2 teens, a 7 yo, 2 cats, all toiletries, cleaning stuff and food included and 4 out of 5 of us have to have special diets :(

NSD yesterday but need to do quick shop today, also need to use up reduced slab of stilton I picked up at Tesco last week - anybody any (wheat free) ideas except Broccoli soup?

    Good morning,

It was so NOT a NSD yesterday! I bought the train tickets for our Mail holiday, got two rather cheap ones for DH and myself with the two together railcard, but DS's was much more expensive, almost as expensive as the holiday! Then DH and I had ice cream and cake at the cinema (free tickets) as a long deserved and longed for treat.

I know it is not strictly grocery but it was a spend.

No need to spend today so I shall try my best to make it a NSD.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
