I really dislike it when I call places and they insist on calling me by my full first name. Metro Bank did it when I popped in last week; I cringed every time she said it.

Have a vision of you at the bank counter with the teller saying "Hazzaaaaaa...... whatchoo want today?"

To be fair, that would be better than using full first name; that said I'm a little old fashioned (I still call people sir and madam) so "Mr Hazza, how's it hangin', bro?" would be preferable ;)

You didn't have to post if you share no interest here.
  • I remember when I was younger, my first bank card with HSBC was <First Initial> <Full middle name> <Surname>.

No idea why they decided my middle name was more important than my first.

Most of my cards nowadays are <First Initial> <Middle Initial> <Surname>, only my business credit card has my full name printed on it.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

I do experiments on occasion as to what gets accepted as "name" when it comes to online purchases. I don't even know what's on my cards without looking. However I can use:

    R Atwork
    Rob Atwork
    Robert Atwork
    Robert A Atwork
    Robert Aspidistra Atwork

when checking out, and they all work

I was christened with a first and middle name but have been called by my middle name all through life.

My bank card says Mrs M Bloggs but my signature has always been J Bloggs so if using my debit card I have to remember to sign M instead of J as only one initial appears on my debit card, my credit card has both initials on it.

Whenever I have to fill in a form asking for my full name I have to put both down. Whenever I go to the doctors/hospital/bank etc they all call me by my first name which I hate and have never used.

Even at work my wage slip has just my first name and surname on. We frequently change team managers and each time I get a new manager and they have to distribute the wage slips they find it highly amusing to call me by my horrible name for a few days afterwards. (Of course that's once they have worked out who the wage slip belongs to).

Its caused me endless problems, when Im in hospital for instance they look at my chart/record and address me as M....... then someone will come to visit or my partner will call the hospital to ask how J.......is doing and of course they have no idea who it is.

    I blame my mother!
