How does your name appear on your card?

Stupid question, but just a matter of person preference, I'm curious.

When I got my first bank card, my Dad added so many names to it and I'm in the process of trasnfering to a 123 account.

What do you guys usually have?

Mr D Moosun - I'm thinking this one lol
Mr Dean Moosun
Dean Moosun
D Moosun

When I first got my card at 16, it was MR D A M MOOSUN ha ha! I think my Dad must've added my middle name and stuff to it.

I suppose if I wanted, I didn't even need to have my title there either.

Deciding what your name is is always potentially a source of problems at sometime.Unless you call yourself Fred Bloggs and never ever use anything else, then someone wherewhere sometime will query why your card/utility bill/passport/driving licence etc says Frederick Albert Bloggs, Mr F A Bloggs, Mr Frederick Bloggs, etc.
You can't avoid this because organisations differ in what they want. Some ask for full name, some provide insufficient spaces to write your full name, some use there own arbitrary syestem.
Then when you are having to prove your identity someone will query why your gas bill shows a different name from your credit card statement.

At least you probably have only your name to worry about. Our very rural postcode has been altered by the PO three times during the last 25 years, and also the locality name and spelling. No two identification documents ever show quite the same name/address.

Mines cards are in different variants.

However I prefer to have salutation, first name, surname.

For some reason barclaycard won't allow you to have your first name on your card.

  • Hi

    It depends on the bank.

I have three middle names and some banks try and put as much of my name on the debit/credit card as possible. Up to the point were it just looks crazy.

Others will just use initials and others are happy to put a short version of my name.

    Examples

    Alexander RIB Smith (TSB)
    Mr A Smith (HSBC)
    A R Smith (Barclays)
    Mr A R Smith (Santander)
    Alex Smith (Amex) & (Lloyds)

Some banks Natwest, Lloyds are happy to put whatever you want on the card. We're as others HSBC and Santander don't seam keen to offer a choice.

Yeah, I find with Santander though if you call them up a few times you'll reach someone on the other end who will be able to help, some will tell you to bring it into your local branch with ID and stuff, mission.

I've only got 1 card, everyday a/c with Santander which I've now transferred to 123 a/c, name will display as Mr D Moosun. I'm going to apply for the Lloyds current a/c next week, hopefully will be able to keep the same format again lol.

    Likewise.
I don't think it is something that you choose.
