I can't believe the Halifax can't even see the payments DF0D, thats ridiculous! Oh no to you getting rubbish news from payroll, at least you've found out today, annoying as it is hopefully November pay will be BIG! xxMummytogirls x0

Silver linings and all that - just had an unexpected product arrive to test from P-cone - it's something I use loads so looking forward to doing that.. also trialling cat litter for Mr T at the mo - it's all rock and roll here..
Few surveys from 1poll today and nabbed another 75 pointson ips0s - @mazon vouchers still out of stock (seem to recall they do this around Christmas) so just letting that build on the way to £20 .. all good for next years pressie pot)
Must must get dressed soon, just hid round the front door as I am so not decent enough for the postie!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thankfully the wages got paid in ok! There was some back pay but it's the standard stuff and not the extra, so it was about £45. So I've divvied that up..
Have started a month in hand fund which is sitting at £13.50.
Next OP fund sitting at £25.29.. will wait till these hit £50 before making this payment.
Pretty sure I haven't allocated the child benefit this month, so should have some extra pennies to divvy up when that comes in.
MIL gave us all our Christmas / birthday gifts last week and keeps nagging me to open the cards (in October!) and put the money in the bank, so i did this morning and resealed everyone's cards.. there is £370 there!!! That's three birthdays and four Christmas gifts (she is very generous!!) so need to get that lot in the bank. As usual I will use the kids £200 and add it to the total that we owe them (currently about £5k to be sorted once the mortgage is gone!) Still never rests easy with me, but the old argument of 'once the mortgage is gone, it will be better for them' pops up. I know I track all they receive plus interest and to be honest, in a few years, I've no chance of using it as they will rightly want to spend their birthday money.
We will use our money to pay for the lounge carpet in a few weeks..
Seeing a few friends today.. debating seeing if they want to come here as the weather is naff and it would mean a no spend day.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Yay to payday DF0D :j
Wow your MIL is very generous isn't she! Get that money in the bank!
Have a nice day xxMummytogirls x0 -
Nice gifts from MIL!
I don't have kids, but I wouldn't feel too guilty "borrowing" from them for a few years. You're not taking their money to go gambling, you're using it to keep (and pay off) a roof over their heads.Plus as you say it'll be a cinch to pay them back once you're MF.

Your doing well even with a few hiccups along the way! I never had money saved for me from my parents but my Dad has helped me out as an adult as he is finacially in a better place than when I was a child, I dont feel I missed out so dont feel bad about that!

Regarding pending payments at the Halifax.
I don't know if you have online banking with them, but pending debit card payments are shown on the statement page, you just need to click to reveal them.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi GG - thanks - it wasn't card payments, it was pending payments due to credit my account they told me they couldn't see and I couldn't see it either!
On the banking note - I have applied for another switch as I'm not happy with the H at all!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Huge list written of to do stuff for the weekend and now I'm wondering why I haven't got some of this stuff done this week. With that typed, I'm off to do the ironing!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

In general my 'pots' look healthy, but I've just under £500 of ruddy car bill offset against them, which means the balance will sit at about £500 for this month - way too close for comfort..
One way to make me stop and think about every purchase I guess!
Eek at car bill I've just had one for £513, I hate cars but really need one for work.HOME
