  • For a few reasons, I reckon I'm just going to ask boss to pay the back pay as overtime and then increase my pay as they have agreed to from September.. at least November should be a bumper month..

A few things I'm not loving about Halif@x.. how can a bank not see pending payments? that's the first bank I've been with that I've not been able to see them.. actually quite tempted to go to another bank - have a total switching bug now!

It seems a lot of us are going to have bumper months in Nov, doesn't help now though!

I've always been with the halifax and there's loads of little things they can't do that others can, pending payments i my personal bugbear as I regularly need to see if my tenants have paid before my mortgage is due to go out. I keep saying I'll switch but never get round to it. :o:o

  • Sold an item on bookface last night for £100 which I wasn't planning to sell, but it's just sitting around the house, so not sure what to do with that to be honest, feel as if my pennies need to go to so many places, I don't know where to start. Looking at my pots, I need the car bill to be £0 - it's bugging me, I've just moved a bit around and it's now at £281, so I'm really going to get this neutral again over the next month.

Survey progress at the end of this week:

    YG £10/£50
Ipsos 523/1380 (managed to request the Am@zon voucher yesterday)
    Val opin - £8.95 / £15.50
    1poll - £5.35 / £40
    P-base - £6.20 / £10
P-cone - Product testing this week

Need to pop into town to deposit the MIL's pennies, pick up an item I've bought and then go to Mr T to buy a few rolls of Christmas wrapping paper.. don't intend to start wrapping until end of November, but I need to start stockpiling some paper ready!

Need to get in the garden and clear some leaves up today and need to actually do some work tonight! Necessary, but not very exciting for a Saturday night! Ironing, cleaning school shoes and baking all feature heaviily in my plans for the weekend! Sigh..

Applied for another bank account yesterday, had to do it over the phone and find out mid week whether we got it, wouldn't' be surprised if it got declined after all the credit searches of late. It would be another £150 switching bonus so not sure it banks watch what you have been doing and whether tey think I would take the money and run) we will see. If I have to, I'll move to somewhere where they don't give a bonus as I don't want to stay with H@lifax.

Right best get on, need to be in town by 9!

  • Bank run done, yet another grumble about the H - cash put in and it's not showing - cheque put in and it is!

Picked up a huge amount of leaves from the garden, more decorating done in the lounge, few more tiny bits and then it's carpet fitting and curtains left to do!

Carved pumpkins this afternoon with the kids.. so glad it's my lie in tomorrow!

Looking forward to a night of strictly and will leave my work till tomorrow night - stuff it!!

Think we are planning to have a chinese tonight as we are both starting a health kick tomorrow. Expect much grumpiness from me next week!

  • Health kick commenced, my lie in lasted till 5.10am!

Cash showing in the bank, so I've divvied that up! I've whacked most of it off the car bill to be honest.. about £71 remaining, so as long as the bookface item goes ok tomorrow, I'll get another £100, so will clear that totally and might keep the rest for me as I forked out for the item we've sold!

Will be so happy when the only red figure showing in my pots turns to black!

I've also got £54 for an OP so will pay that off this week.

Right must go take our meter reading and see what a month of the heating being on has done!

  • Well after taking the meter reading today, it's increased by 200% this month and that is with the heating not on that much.. All our rads are temperature controlled so only come on when each room gets to a certain level and I've hardly seen any of the indicators flashing signifying the rad is on this month so it's got to be the tumble drier. Therefore I've forked out just over £100 on an electric drier and cover. Once that arrives we are going to sell the tumble and offset some of the cost. Hopefully will see a difference in the electric next month.

Moved the kitchen round a bit, tumble is out of the way in prep for going, so I've moved the fridge and it's made the kitchen look a lot bigger!

Tried to get the washing dry outside today but the sun just didn't rise high enough at the front of the house to dry everything completely, so it's in the tumble.. will do another load I think prior to the drier arriving.

Fleabayed two items, one should get three figures and the other about £20 so watch this space.

Managed to get my work done around the kids today, so thankfully no work tonight. Determined to spend this half term let stressed, will just keep my head down.

Mr T shopping came with crushed bananas and squished grapes, so got just over £6 refunded from them, so shopping in at under £50 this week. Cooking and baking done ready for packed lunches this week.

Need to pay for a trip for the little people but can't see how to do it, have parents meetings tomorrow night so will find out how to do it as well as seeing how my cherubs are getting on. Just hoping the Teacher recognises little man has improved loads since the beginning of term.

What a waffly one again - sorry!

    Evening DF0D,

Oh no to the massive increase in gas and electricity. I think you will definitely notice a difference not using the TD.

I think this half term will be slightly less stressy anyway and it is a nice one anyway with the run up to the Christmas. I hope I don't get proved wrong this half term now ha!

Hope parents evening goes well tomorrow xx

  • Parents evening went well.. pleased with them both.

Sleep is evading me a bit at the mo, not helped by DH booting me as he got back into bed just now, so I'm awake and up! Things on my mind, work related not helping.

First day done anyway and the weeks do fly by when I'm there, so that's one thing.

Not much occuring money wise at the mo... waiting on child benefit to come in as I've not divvied that up and that's about it!

  • My early start is catching with me.. zzz

£50 Op made to the mortgage today and finally they tell me how to make these payments online - wait for OP's all over the place now!

Hopefully got my back pay sorted as overtime now for next (this) month.

Littlies had school pics this week and they are not the best at all, so bad Mum or not, we are not going to buy them to consign them to the back of a cupboard and I wouldn't put them up.. they are just not them at all. we've got lots of photos anyway, just a shame school couldn't take nice ones. Bit of money saved there anyway.

20p on surveys - slim pickings today..

Now time for dinner and then bed me thinks!

  • My heated airer arrived so washing done, cover on and I'm leaving it for the night - at 4p an hour, I reckon we could afford it - hoping it'll be dry in the morning, then I can get the tumble up for sale.

50p on Y0vg0v today, but all quiet otherwise.
