  • Floors mopped - house feels clean!

Carpet samples coming home tomorrow night and then they are measuring the lounge on Tuesday.. hope to get it fitted before December (I am one of those 1 Dec tree putter uppers!) :xmastree:

Mr T shopping coming later, should save a bit on the weekly budget of £60 as I was struggling to get it to £40 last night to hit free delivery!

Family day at home today, ironing, housework and final bit of touching up needed in the lounge. Littles have some painting to do for School which will lead to a messy afternoon.

I've some work to do later.. so all in all a quiet, but busy day ahead!

Awesome day! took the littlies ice skating for the first time, spent £24 on a years entry to a local place we go to loads.. and then £28 on ice skaing, but it was worth it to see their faces.

Splashed out £10 on a mop and bucket as my steam cleaner is useless and I actually rather enjoy mopping with a proper mop and bucket!

Hub has just arrived home with a chinese (treat night)

That sounds lovely. I've always wanted to try ice skating but we our local-ish rink was closed years ago. Also, every kept telling me horror stories about broken bones!

I bought a steam cleaner, which was also useless. :)

  • Mr T came in at £44, so £16 under budget this week. £3.03 reached payable on TCB, so another Am@zon voucher requestsed.

Child benefit came in which I hadn't budgeted for, so I have cleared the car bill and deleted the account now it's back to zero! So pleased that is gone. Will build up surplus for car repairs / insurance in the petrol account as we always underspend in there.

Another £50 put aside from the child benefit towards an OP - will do that later tonight.. new plan will be to try to OP the interest amount every month as of next month.

Argh - sitting here typing this in my bedroom and little boy just spotted one of his santa pressies under the bed.. new hidey place needed!

Congrats on getting rid of the car bill! :)

Good plan re: interest as the mortgage OPs - I've read personal finance bloggers who've had good success with that method.
  • 15p on 1poll nabbed, and 10 points for screening out of a survey on ips0s

£3 into my account from P-cone, will add that to the OP amount. Must pay that off later if I get chance.. lots of work to do first!

I was considering ice skating at Stockeld, what age would you say was old enough?

I like a mop and bucket too.

    Hope you enjoyed the Chinese

  • Well mine are 4 and they were ok, bit like gazelles at times, but with the help of a stabillity penguin, they did stay upright.. we did think about it last year, but figured they were two young!

  • So I've used the online details to pay £60 OP to the mortgage - will now avidly watch the amount to make sure it comes off - always worry my pennies will go to cyberspace and be lost forever - ever so close now to my original OP target for this year. £1.83 towards the next OP built up from a mobile bill coming in under budget!

£23.50 in the month in hand fund now.

10p on a 1poll survey and that's it for tonight!

Looks like work have managed to not process my overtime again! Grrrrrr

Lounge carpet measured today and that will be just under £400, so without the overtime, I'll put this on the CC and then pay it straight off next month.

Motoring forward again with the car bill behind you, fab news :T

Ooh so close to your OP target, exciting stuff and well done so far :j

DS did ice skating for a few years from about age 7 in group lessons, flippin' freezing watching him, but he loved it and was doing backward 'lemons' and jumps and all sorts. They go so fast without fear and progress surprisingly quickly. Much younger ones in the group too :)
