It's a good job I'm an early bird SJ!
Well you will all be impressed with FD folks, who have sent me a cheque for 4p today after closing my account. Instead of putting it into the CC account, they send it to me. So i have to travel 20 miles to put it in a bank! Stoopid!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Well the car came in at £917! Nothing I can do, but it's probably more than the car is worth!
Only had £200 in the account, so that pot is now £717 in debit. I kind of operate an internal lending system between my pots so the whole account is in credit, but some pots may not be, though it's usually just by a few pounds. I do have the money put aside for CC2 which would cover it, but the thought of opening that debt up again depresses me.
Feeling a bit down with money at the mo, had already planned to not do much debt busting this month and build a few pots up, but feels like money is flying out the door.
Times likes this I can't see ourselves being debt free..
Anyhoo enough of that sad stuff, first week at School done and we all survived. Bought the littlies a treat yesterday for being so good about it all, plus they both got certificates for reading and girlie got an award from the Headteacher!
Planning a quiet weekend, pottering in the garden, baking and just generally getting stuff done.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

OMG DF0D, £917 . Im not surprised you're feeling down, I think I would too. Hate these situations when money is just draining before your eyes, but don't let it demotivate you too much.
Re the cheque can you pay in at the post office? We can at ours so any cheques go in through there, I'm with HSBC if that helps, might be worth a call to them.
Have a lovely weekend xxMummytogirls x0 -
Surprisingly though I'm less down and stressed about it than I would have been pre MSE!
Pots and bulbs planted, only want a few daffs planted now and I'm going to leave the planting in the beds over the winter and maybe just do a few pots with some colour in..
DH doing a few tip runs to clear the last bits in the garden..looking nice out there!
So dilemma for you.. I have a ultra competitive Mum friend (not same School), I say friend, but it's 95% effort from me and very little from her, but I'm tried because my two like her littlies and as we only moved to the area when i was expecting, we haven't found it that easy to meet people.
When I say competitive I mean down to 'my kid ate one more grape than yours. I rock as a Mum' type competition, whereas I'm more 'they're fed, clothed and I've given them as much time as I can today' type of Mum.
A birthday party is looming, the ultimate opportunity for perfect parenting and having been to a few of hers, they have 1/2 other parents that stand there and look at me and my two like we're on the sole of their shoes, plus new School means a load more unknown parentals. So do I go, because I feel like I should for my two or do I politely decline with the best reason I can think of. Am I a bad Mummy for not putting my two first and letting them go to a party. DH won't come as he can't stand them..DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Go and stand there with a huge grin on your face thinking "do they realise i detest them more than they think" - then you win! Plus grinning will make them feel uncomfortable!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Sounds good to meA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I make the ex take mine to parties, can't stand the one upmanship of it all. I'm too busy for it. It has backfired a little though, as I literally have no friends from my daughters school. There's a few i chat to when dropping off at breakfast club, but I don't have their numbers. It doesn't help that I NEVER drop off, pick up at normal time due to work.HOME

Well, my MSE-ing will take a right bashing it seems from now till the end of the year.
We have always been of the thinking that whilst we have to clear debt and want to clear the mortgage, life goes on and we are not going to miss out on everything.
So we have agreed this morning to do a birthday party for the littlies, they have never had one and with starting School, we thought it would be nice.
Any ideas would be sooo welcome, the thought of trying to fill two hours scares me! And referring back to the perfect parenting post a few days ago, I am not one of those, I would just like people to come, have fun and at least go away without pinning ' the worst party ever' award on me.
Thinking of the local parish hall as it's local and cheap.. that's as far as I've got.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
