£8.12 in from prolific and £2.66 from TCB.Just said on KCs diary I clocked the cost of my shower today. 26p. Will be mindful of the kids when they have theirs for sure! We did come in under £1.50 yesterday on the electric so pretty chuffed with that.Must remember to do a meter reading tomorrow as well though I have no faith the electric company will bill us properly.Sitting outside waiting to go in for my interview. Got here early so I know I’m on time. Haven’t had an interview for years and actually feel quite nervous compared to how I thought I’d feel.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Good luck for the interview!
And yes, under £1.50 is very good, and so is checking and taking a photo of the meters.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Thanks KC. Should hear today. Bit annoying that the hours advertised aren’t what they are actually offering. It’s more and I’m limited on what I can do. I’ll see if I get it and if so what they actually offer.Slept badly last night. A ‘friend’ was super unkind. I’m well aware this person tolerates me as we are all part of the same friendship group but yesterday was openly dismissive of me like I don’t exist. I’m not surprised, just shocked at how brazenly they did it. I genuinely don’t care about this person, but it’s super tricky when it’s part of the same friendship group. So it’s been on my mind and I kept waking up. I have no interest to tackling it at all and will just rise above it. Just sad that people feel the need to be so horrible.Anyway. Moving on to more positive stuff. £5 in from Shoppix today. It’s pay day and money in / money out and the account balance looks healthier. For a day or so anyway.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

It's strange isn't it that some people need to be unpleasant to feel good about themselves, where most of us like to be nice to people because THAT helps us to feel good about ourselves. Well I guess we know which type we prefer & as they say there's nowt so queer as folk.

It's horrible, and really hard to get it out of your head, even if you rise above it. I do wonder what this person has done this for, whether it is conscious or unconscious and whether they have any idea of the impact. I am left wondering if others from the group were there and how it made them feel. When I had someone attack me, everyone else was too shocked to stand up for me. I have not put myself in that position since and we have stopped going to the place as I don't go out for social interaction to be attacked by a misogynist. No great hardship not to go and they have lost our regular revenue inputSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2135.07/£3000 or 71.17% of my annual spend so far

Sorry to hear someone has been unkind, i often think this says more about the other person and their own unhappiness, although its not an excuse. DH used to work with someone who's sole purpose in life was to complain, be nasty and was an unpleasant person to be around, there was always some sort of drama in her life and unfortunately she couldn't see she was the one causing the drama, some people cannot be happy and therefore try and drag everyone around them down.
You come across as such a lovely person, don't let this individual bring you down it's them with the problem. xx5 -
Debtfree, so sorry to hear this - even though you don't care about the person, it can still haunt you, absolutely. And navigating the friend group has got to be a nightmare
I have two ways of coping (because I hear you on the sleeplessness when that happens) - I read old posts in Captain Awkward, using the "friendship" category, and I write out *everything* on the computer, in a Word document I'll never show to anyone, and I'll write and overwrite over days, as much as I want to. That uses up the energy and takes it out of my head to some pixels on my computer, and I can delete it when I'm ready.
Sending positive vibes.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Well I didn’t get the job either so I had a big sob fest on DH about the whole non friend issue and the fact I feel worthless for not getting the job (even though I know that’s not the case) and then ate a crème egg so feel a huge amount better now.The friend wasn’t the only one there and I do think the other one felt awkward but honestly I’m ok with it. I’m going to rise above it. And do me. And keep smiling in her face.Good prolific day. £18.67 waiting for clear. £5 Amazon voucher on the way from Shoppix as well. Having a productive life admin doing day as well which is clearing so much space in my head so that’s really helping.Thank you for the kind words. Made me feel better and it’s so appreciated. x
