Good for you on rising above it, and doing you, I like that. The underlying thing I was babbling about, though, is that if you get stressed by someone pulling that stuff and remaining nice yourself, you have to use that energy/adrenalin somewhere. It's not about confronting the friend, it's about looking after yourself.

Sorry about the job, i'm the same I have a cry to DH, eat chocolate and then pull myself together and paint a smile on my face whenever i see a certain person (it's actually my sister) inside i'm thinking **** you i'm better than this. Oh and compliment them in front of others, just little things like nice bag, lovely coloured top even if you hate it, makes them look an even bigger b**** if they take a swipe at you.4

1st of the month. How is it even April already? Our bank account is not the exciting place it used to be on 1st of the month. Two payments out for the council tax (£200!!!!) and a water bill. That’s it. Party over.£5.55 in from prolific overnight so off to a good start for April.Spent last night looking for jobs. It’s so hard to find one fitting round DH and the kids commitments.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I'd take a dull bank account over an empty one - I got paid yesterday and this morning there is £23.99 left in there (which will come out on Monday!) 😮 I love my separate accounts for different pots system, but it is a bit disheartening to see an empty current account quite so quickly!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Glad you're okay debtfree. I always think that we can remove ourselves from horrible people, whereas they have to live with themselves (and I expect you won't be the only one who avoids them)."Think of many things, do one"

Been felling quite down in the dumps this weekend. Price rises hit home. We already find things quite tight and it’s rubbish to feel the pinch even more. I know we are in a better position than most… Just feeling sorry for myself!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Lots and lots of money related talk going on at the moment and as it stands we are changing our focus for this year.We have done a financial plan from now until 2041. Random I know. Using figures as they stand with money in and money out we can see which years we can afford life and which ones we need to look out. That is without the mortgage payment changing at all.Soooo long and short of it is, we are stopping OPs, the emergency fund will stay as it is and we are going to save up one by one for things that are more important.First up, the second larger woodburner we want to install. This is with the aim of it providing more heat for the house come the winter reducing the need for the radiators to be on so much. A wall needs to come down but we think we will do that ourselves. Installation will be about £1500.So the two pots that all extra money is going towards are:
Holiday balance - £62 / £330
Woodburner - £54 / £430DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
